Well my 2006 tour of the theme parks has begun. I will be updating this forum wiht trip reports throughout the season. The list of parks will be updated after I visit each of them.

Parks Visited
Six Flags Great Adventure
Annunciation Carnival

Trip 1- Six Flags Great Adventure
Weather- Everything you can think of (except snow)
What I was wearing- Yankees T, khaki shorts, yankees hat,

Well, I decided to hit up Six Flags on the first weekend of the seasn. It was warm out as I pulled up early and the sun was peeking over the horizon. I got in fast, avoiding the ton of photographers and made my way to the rope. Since Kingda Ka was not to open until 10, I went first to Superman. It was a walk-on, as was everything early, the park was empty. Anyway, Superman was just more of the same. Nice little flying experience, but its going to be trumped BIG TIME by Tatsu. Anyways, I decided to hop on my favorite the Scream Machine. This thing is just a classsic and I love inversions. There was no headbanging and it ran rather smoothly. I then went to the other side of the park.

Only the Robin side of the Chiller was running, sadly. I walked right on. I enjoyed the ride a lot, even though I like the top hat on Batman better. I hope Six Flags can get it up and running. Nitro was up next, yet another walk-on. It was full of airtime, however I am more of an inversion type of guy. Still a good ride. Next was another walk-on, Batman. It seemed to be very forceful and intense. It was an excellent ride this time around. I was forced to walk to the other side of the park since the Skyride wasn't running. I hit up the carousel real fast. Thiss is just a great merry-go-round, it is a classic. I then went to get in line for Kingda Ka.

I ended up waiting 15 minutes before getting on. Only one station was being used and there were more breakdowns then I could count. I still believe this ride is vastly overrated, especially by folks who havn't ridden Dragster. It isn't bad, just O.K. After Ka, I continued on to Medusa. Medusa was a great ride today. It was as smooth as glass and the inversions were amazing. I then went on the newly renovated Mine Train. This mine train is pretty good, especially when going over the lake. I enjoyed it and liked the new restraints. After that I went into Best of the West for some really good chicken. I then looked and saw it was only 11:30. It was growing cloudy and windy outside. I decided to hit up some flats. I got on the Twister, whcih was a good ride and the space shuttle. The space shuttle's restraints were tight, so that wasn't very good.

By now the wind was really picking up. I went on the Big Wheel real fast and then went over to the bumper cars. Both rides were pretty good. Then as I was on the music express, the rains came in. It was pouring beyond belief as I got off the still slow and neglected music express. I ran like hell towards Houdini looking for relief, and of course it was closed. So I continued to run and finally got in line ofr Spongebob. I really didn't enjoy the ride cause I was wet, but it wasn't too bad, it's worth at least a try. I went back outside, where it was still raining a little, though the rain slowed down. I took a long walk to Skull Mountain and hopped on. I simply do not like indoor coasters. I rode this cause of the rain though. Anyway, I got off. The wind was still howling, but the rain had stopped. I was miserably wet, so I got a quick ride on Freefall and left. Besides the rain the day was full of walk-ons and fun rides. Six Flags is always fun early in the season.

Trip 2- Annunciation Carnival
Monday-Saturday
Weather- Only rained out on Thursday, a bit cool.

As I have been doing for so many years, I hit up Annunciation for their
carnival. The amusements were provided by Skelly's again and once again they did a fantastic job. There were a handful of different rides this year. Crowds seemed to be up from last year and I had some great moments. I am<
