You should go ahead and get the tattoo. A skooter isn´t like a boyfriend; your obsession will likely last a lifetime, making it worthwhile

I'm seriously tempted - I actually have a great photo of an old Lusse on my office wall, begging to made into a permanent fixture... and no sirree, I'll never tire of this fanaticism - I hope I'm still knocking the heck out of other riders when I'm 90...

I met a fellow once with a tattoo of the parachute jump (Coney Island) running up the side of his lower leg - and then, of course, there was Indian Larry, who showed me his Steeplechase and Polar Bear Club tattooes...

God bless him, he seemed like a great man. I was saddened to hear of losing him.

Very nice, friendly guy. I never watched the show he was on or anything - just met him on a strictly Coney Island level. He was truly an original...

Overview of my Park Map tackboard:

Right side of the tackboard:

Left side of the tackboard:

I still haven't added a few maps (Visionland and Cedar Point included, I need to add a 4th corkboard) and some other photos and such

American Eagle Concept Drawing:

CB Comet Blueprints:

I also added the rest of my cups (well, the ones I cared to display)

Right side of the shelf:

Left side of the shelf:

I got some other stuff too, but that's the big stuff

I laminate the maps then hane them with collage photo frames of pictures from the park up my stairwell.

We all have some serious issues I also have about 50 shotglasses 20+ t shirts and magnets.

Most outsiders would say man you need a woman not a hobby yet I'm married and collect comics. Man when you look at the sum of the parts I lead a weird existence.

A Steel Force cup of mug is going to go very nicely in that collection

I really need to start doing more with my maps and stuff. I picked up a bunch from Great Adventure today. I killed my Hershey one from this past year I'll figure out something though. I'm not really into the collector stuff because I don't feel like dropping money on that stuff, but the Kingda Ka shirts look really cool. The Hydra shirts are pretty lacking though.

Yea, about that... I'm going to need a new shelf after my next trip, I should start to think of something...

Eventually, I am going to place a big piece of plexiglass over the boards and hang them on my back porch, but for now we still need to do a bit of work back there so it is right now without anywhere to go, plus, it grew longer than the table (I gotta find that damn leaf so I can finish the board)

I don't collect all too much, that's just a phoduct of saving the tickets and a bunch of park maps, and the neccessity to hydrate myself. Other than that stuff I have very little

Oh, and since I couldn't get this one to show up, here is the American Eagle one:

That thing is huge in real life, the print itself is 5' x 2'

Dang BobFunland, you are indeed the ultimate Amusement/Theme Park Fan. Nice Photos. I think you have a great hobby. I also want to congratulate you on becoming one of the newest moderators. I feel that move was long overdue for you. Keep up the good work.

I don't know if I would consider what I have souveneirs since I work there, but I have over 100 different types of Knoebels tickets. I aint that picky where I even have ones where the National Ticket Comapny has the old zip code, but what I collect is different fonts and designs, but ya 105 I think. But those pics. above are pretty neat.

Oh, I definitely consider those to be souvenirs, Lado. I have a good collection of all sorts of junk - er, souvenirs - from my years spent working at Kings Island, with which I'll never part...

I really like your map collection. It's good to see someone else that appreciates, and for that matter, keeps park maps when most just throw it away as they leave the park. I'm really proud of what I have collected, so I'll show it off ... 105 maps from 72 different parks located in 10 countries and 25 states ...

Note: This is just a handful of what I've accumulated. If you wish to see a certain map or brochure, or if you need help in getting one from a specific park, feel free to ask.

Thanks, yours is good too, but its not so much of a collection to me as it is a free souvenir of the parks Ive been to. I've thought of trying to collect as many as possible, but so far all but one of them I got on my own (and that was my Astroworld one that got ruined, so I mailed the park).

However, that's still quite an impressive collection

I wish I had kept all the old maps of the parks I've been to just to see the changes. I have one of those giant plastic mugs with the lid and straw from when Wicked Twister opened showing like 7 of the coasters or something. My favorite thing, though is collecting Haunted Mansion memorabilia from Disney World. I have a big snow globe that moves when you wind it and you can turn on a light to make the ghosts glow green.

I don't know why, but I really wanna spend $229.95 on one of these or one of these. I like the latter one myself. I'll probably get one when I visit the park again. Am I going insane?

RR- I'm not really into carousels, but those are both pretty cool. In Ocean City, Maryland, there is a carousel store right next to Trimpers rides and they have all sorts of neat figures and stuff.

I'm probably the worst one to say this, but I don't think you're that crazy... PKI used to (they may still) sell figurines of some of their own horses - if I'd had the money to buy them back then, you bet I would have. They were very well done, and those CP figures look to be, as well.

I still have the postal stamp that features the latter horse you like - I remember when that figure was still on the children's carousel. Also, I rode the "haunted horse", the first figure you showed, when it was still on the old Frontier carousel - before it was moved to Dorney, and the figure removed for display at CP. Sort of a shame it wasn't kept with its original machine, but that's preservation for you...

It's not a successful ride on the Flying Scooter unless you've got bruises to tell the story for you.

Hmm, Those are really nice. That would be a great Mother's Day present. You could find something like that at Frontier Trail, right?

Hehe, I'm not a mother. Actually, I've seen them in two gift shops only, the main one (near front gate) and the Pagoda Shop (near Peanut's Playground). They're in those glass cases, so if you want one, you'll need to ask a sales person for assistance.

I also agree that they would make a great gift.....for ourselves.

Not really considered souvenirs, but Wendy's has a line of Six Flags toys for their kids' meals. Although nothing spectacular, they seem kinda fun to have, especially the bus...I got one today.

They might also offer discounts on Six Flags regular admission. I know there's a buy one get one free kids ticket on the kids meal bag.
