All hail king Canyon! In other words, ive ridden Whitewater Canyon at Kings Dominion and it comes in a respectable second, and Rip Roarin Rapids at Carowinds, coming in dead last. For some reason I get a ma-jor kick out of the loading dock, the way it turns and all. Ive never (even since I was a wee little one) been able to figure out if it was an optical illusion. Ill never get past the fact that I always end up with some of the weirdest strangers on my raft.

For rapids fun and cooling off, this really cant be beat. I love the little surprises (the spray tunnel, water hoses) along the way, and the finale - being doused by geysers (and eagle-eyed onlookers, courtesy pay-as-you-go water torpedos) is hilarious. I love getting the onlookers all roused up, i.e. "You think you can hit my boat? Yeah? Try it!"

Currently my 3rd favorite rapids ride(Popeye & Bluto, Roman Rapids), gets you wet as hell, and the wait wasnt too bad either.

I have ridden this ride 20+ times, and not once have I come off dry! Its a nice walk through the woods to get to it, and all you can see are all of the people walking down the exit lane soaking wet! Doing the shooters also add to the experience, a great ride!

White Water Canyon clearly deserves the 9/10 rating here since it is among the best of the best water rides ever created and you can tell that the park spent a lot of time to make the ride look as authentic to Rivertown as possible and this ride along with The Beast is where the park shines in good old fashioned historical settings and wild fun. You get soaked on this which is what its made for and the quality is the tip top of any park besides Disney!

The mother of all water rafting rides really gets you soaked to the core while theres plenty of wave action and water flying overhead! You never know whos going to get it next and how this raft spins makes the anticipation of that all the much better as well as the water being surprising cold sometimes! Its really fun to do the pay shooters so you can use to cannons to shoot the riders and it has some neat tunnels that remind me of how in the middle of nowhere this and The Beast really seem compared to the hustle and bustle of the kiddie lands and Action Zone. Extremely refreshing and fun water ride which I highly recommend to all ages. It is quite a walk to get there though!

Strong raft ride. Giving the onlookers a chance to soak riders (especially when most onlookers have just gotten off the ride) is a nice twist. The only thing missing is some hevy thememing (which is not needed) and a big drop at the end (which would be a nice climax). My only real problem with this ride is the LOOOOOOOOONG que walkway. Takes way too long to get to the ride (even on slow days) because of the length of the que. I do LOVE this ride though.

The long trek back through the woods to one of the most outstanding water rapids rides in the World is more than worth it. Theres no question why this has been one of the longest lines and most nostaligic rides at the park to ride over and over. They should take back their warning and say you will get drenched, because theres no way you can escape the numerous fountains, blasters, and rapids that can get you at every turn during the ride. The course layout is designed perfectly and its difficult to get a ride like this or The Beast which can escape this far away from everything else in the park. Not quite Grizzly River Run at DCA, but for its time, breathtaking and thrilling. The woods really beats some of todays best theming though.

This is the best river ride I have ever been on. You will all ways get wet no mater where you sit. Also the walk through the woods to get to the ride is cool.
