Review of Raging Bull @ Six Flags Great America
3 Rating Posted by: ginzo on 3/4/2007 11:10:00 PM
Raging Bull really surprised me. After hearing from numerous sources that this was the weakest US B&M hyper installation, I wasnt expecting too much. It had been raining all day, and this thing completely rocked my world. That first drop from the back seat is easily the best drop Ive ever experienced. It beat the pants off of Sheikras drop, a coaster designed to do nothing but drop well. That first drop from the back seat felt like I had jumped off a building, and was descending to my doom. The nice clamshell resraints barely held me in. Did I mention that the B&M hyper seats are the greatest coaster seats Ive yet to experience? The rest of the ride after the drop was excellent as well. The MCBR did *not* kill the ride, but this could have been due to the rain. Ill re-evaluate this coaster the next time I go to Great America, but for now I can only judge it based on my existing riding experience.

Thank you, ginzo, for a great review and reaffirming what I have always believed - that Raging Bull holds its own against the rest of the heavy-hitting hypers out there very well. I do have one question for you too - were you actually referring to the MCBR in your comment, or were you referring to the brake on the 3rd hill? Either way, I dont think that either of them kill the ride at all, but it made me wonder. Once again, great review.

it sucks that the hyper with the best first drop has one of the lamest overall rides. The best hill on Bull rivals the lone "air" hill on Goliath @ MM (quotes denoting skepticism at the existence of air on their Goliath)

Although Raging Bull no longer occupies my top 10 I still find it to be a "10" caliber ride. The 1-2 of RB along with Viper is one of the strongest coaster combos that I have ridden.

Yeah, that first drop on Bull is crazy from the back seat. It feels like the ride is trying to hurl you out of your seat.

Not only is Millennium Force not the be-all end-all of coasters, but Cedar Point isnt the ultimate amusement park either. Heres a word you should add to your vocabulary: "airtime". Are you just mad that S:ROS beat out your favorite ride in both of the major polls this year?

ginzo as frustrating as this "anonymous" person is, she never signs up, and she never changes. She is obviously trying to compensate for being trapped inside the wrong body. Usually they are crying about Apollos Chariot.

Something tells me anon has been to like two parks, and hasnt even ridden Raging Bull or S:ROS. This is such typical fanboy behavior- praising another coaster is equal to insulting your favorite coaster.

What is it about Cedar Point that attracts so many insane fanboys? As if there are no coasters outside Ohio.
