Review of Tidal Force @ Hersheypark

Tidal Force was an amazing shoot the chute ride and is my favorite one I have been on, even over Escape From Pompeii. Located in Pioneer Frontier towards the back of the park, Tidal Force is much larger than the average shoot the chute, twice as large. Standing 100ft tall, Tidal Force makes the largest wave I have ever seen on a water ride that I have seen. Running 3 green boats each seating 20 people, Tidal Force has a decent capacity. Entering underneath a giant white and red lighthouse, you approach the station. I encountered a 20 minute wait for Tidal Force because it took a while to load and dispatch because the boats take a very long time to climb the long lift hill. My favorite seat is the front seat because of the great view. Once you board the boat, you are restrained by a black lap bar. Soon you begin your tedious climb up the long, 100ft tall lift hill. You get some amazing views of Hersheypark while going up the lift hil, especially of the many spectacular coasters. At the top of Tidal Force, you slowly ride around a U-turn and plunge down the long 100ft drop gaining some very good speed. The amazing drop was followed by a mammoth splash getting my absolutely drenched. You get even wetter by a lot of water collected during the giant splash getting caught in a holder and is released over you getting you even wetter. Then you slowly travel around a slow U-turn back into the station, ending the ride. Overall, an excellent shoot the chute ride that is the best one I have been on. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who enjoys shoot the chutes. Tidal Force is even better on a hot day because you come off drenched. Getting wet on the wooden bridge is fun afterwards getting you even wetter, even with the screen there.
