Review of Apollos Chariot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

One of the most underrated coasters in the world. AC is the best B&M coaster I have been on, and ranks #7 in my top 10 coasters. I feel it is better than Nitro. In the back row it has airtime that borderlines ejector/floater, and it is sustained as long as Nitros floater airtime. The palcement of the ride is awesome, it was freshly painted when I went last year (6 years after its opening year), themed nicely, has a very nice layout that takes advantage of the terrain and scenery, and like other B&M hypers, extremely smooth with comfy trains.

How is this underrated? Isnt it talked about, like, um, a lot?

I agree Nitro1118. I found that AC is better than Nitro, but I see many more polls and reviews praising Nitro over AC. I wouldnt say most underrated, but I agree that it is, at least, slightly underrated. The difference though is that in my day at BGE I was able to ride AC 7 times, but I was only able to ride Nitro once, so that 2 hour line up may have dulled my enthusiasm for Nitro, somewhat. That being said, they are both excellent coasters. For me, it is just a slight edge to AC.

Im going to have to ride Apollo a couple more times to get an accurate view of it since I only got one ride. I just didnt feel it. I have had a few rides on Nitro this year that were really bad, but the ones that were good were much, much better than Apollos Chariot for me. To me, so far, I find Nitro to be better, but it is all just a matter of opinion.

Underated? This is the most jocked ride on this website (well either this or Phoenix) I would say that as good as AC is it would have to be one of the most overated coasters on the plantet (none being more overtaed than Phoenix)

No offense, but hows Pheonix an overrated coaster? There may be people out there who arent huge airtime fans, but the ride does provide so much more than just its huge abundance of airtime. Dont forget that its historys also something to admire about it since it used to be the Rocket at Playland Park in Texas. Also, for it being one of the first wooden coasters to have a relocation project done to it, it came with a great value of being only $1.5 million dollars. Many kids love this ride since it was probably the first coaster theyve ever experienced & it has always made the Top 10 List for many coaster enthusiasts almost every year.

Those are 2 of my 6 top rides(counting Europe) so I feel they are rated right where they need to be.

I agree with coaster05 on this one. Apollos Chariot is my 3rd favorite steel coaster after Superman Ride of Steel in New England and Millenium Force. I have not yet ridden a lot of the top rated wooden coasters, but Phoenix is currently the best one that Ive ridden. I have been underwhelmed by some decently rated wooden coasters that Ive ridden, but Phoenix lived up to the hype for me.
