Review of Iron Wolf @ Six Flags Great America

I was suprised by Iron Wolf - I expected a dull, rough ride experience. After all, Vortex at Carowinds provided that for me, and this was older (not to mention the first B&M project on their own). Well - Iron Wolf does not fit that profile. Id actually not only rank it above Vortex, but Chang as well. There was some nice punch in the dives -- it reminded me a bit of Scorcher, just not as aggressive and intense. The inversions werent too rough at all, and the layout actually did have some thrilling elements and pacing. Overall, while not the greatest ride, its certainly better than what I was expecting.

I rode this several years ago. I found the ride itself to be quite a bit more exciting than Scorcher. I was really surprided by how intense the ride was. Perhaps they braked it? However, it beat the hell out of us. My head was slammed many times.

Interesting - and it was definately one of the more intense B&Ms, however, I find Scorcher to be more refined and enjoyable. Of course, none of them stand up too well against Riddlers to me :-\ (edit - pun not intended)

Oh, Scorcher is definitely more refined and enjoyable than Iron Wolf, I just though IW was a crazier ride. Riddler is the best stand-up, no doubt. Iron Wolf...while it was intense, I would give it a low score due to the thrashing I got.
