Review of Bumper Boats @ Funtown Splashtown U.S.A.
0 Rating Posted by: Canobie Coaster on 7/27/2005 12:37:00 PM
APPEARANCE: This basically all the Bumper Boats had going for them, as the pond is crystal-clear and the structure surrounding the ride looks great. Also, the boats themselves looked like they got a paint job recently and certainly looked very good.

WAIT TIME: 10-20 minutes- The wait really depends on how hot it is when you visit Funtown, and what time of day it is. Lines for this move very slowly, as while there is a good number of boats from what I can tell, the operator took quite a bit to load and unload each boat.

RIDE: Well, the boats werent the fastest and there handling wasnt that great in my opinion. Also, the collisions were very weak as quite a few of the "bumpers" on the boats were deflated, which caused very weak and dry collisions. But thats not even my biggest gripe from the ride, its the motor. The exost from the motor traveled directly out of the steering wheel and directly into my face, which caused me to have some trouble breathing during the ride. The cycle was pretty long (about 3-3 1/2 minutes), which was horrible because I was a prisoner of these horrible boats.

FINAL VERDICT: I certainly avoid these everytime I visit Funtown as they arent even that good of a set of bumper cars, and if I want to take in exost, Ill just sit behind a car. I certainly dont recommend these to others and if youre hot, use their water park or the flume over this.

So I geuss you didnt like the ride. I dont blame you. They shoudl really sell off the Bumper boats and reinvest the money in a new ride.

I agree. The Bumper Boats should be sold and replaced with a new family ride or two. Anyway, Funtown has enough water rides with Thunder Falls Log Flume and Splashtown.

Its not really a water ride you dont get wet and they have farly good bumber cars which make this ride worth even less. To be honst I think they should remove every ride from that area and turn that area into water park. Then instal the better rides like the berny cars and well thats about it. maybe instal the bernys cars under Excaliber or in that general area. I find most of the rides in that area pointless.

Funtown should like you said take out the Bumper Boats for good. Also, they maybe should relocate the Barney Oldfield Cars. I think that instead of expanding the water park, Funtown should add a giant flat ride package in there with 4-6 new rides including maybe a Samba Tower, Rocking Tug, a Family Swinger, Kite Flyer, or a few other rides. But mostly, Funtown should remove the Bumper Boats.

Lookat aany sky shot of Funtown. No one has a great one but you will see a buge planket of trees spaning back to the Highway. about 460 extra acres of land. They have plenty of room for ride expantion for the park. not to mention they need a water park that can compete a little bit with Aquabogen.

But, Funtown needs new rides in the amusement park first to make the price worth it.

Yes they do but not in that area. they need to Be smart and place the rides in a location that they can stay for a long time. Dragons area, Excalibure area, etc. It might also be a good idea to remove that slow kiddie train ride and instal one of two family rides on that plot. I wasnt meanign for them to redo that area next year.
