Review of Superman: Ultimate Flight @ Six Flags Great Adventure

For my only ride on this, I guess I was lucky. I only waited about 20 minutes. However, it was still not worth the wait. The idea is there along with the concept, but it is not packaged well at all. For this I blame the "old" Six Flags for its need for something new all the time and its old rush rush rush attitude. Like Arrow with X (granted I have not ridden), I would have liked to see what B&M could have done with this idea given the time to expand and develop. To start, the ride was interesting to say the least. It was a little disorienting considering it was a new ride experience for me. However, after the first drop and the pretzel loop, there was nothing. The ride had nothing to offer. It was short and boring. Sure I have a short ride as my number 1 in Storm Runner, but this does not compare in any way. Also, I found the restraints and position to become very uncomfortable, especially after lying there and waiting for a few minutes to be brought back into the station. Overall... not enjoyable. Good ideas, just not developed or exicuted correctly.

I havent been on this one, but I have been on the one at SFOG, and I agree about the restraints. It really is uncomfortable. And the first time I rode it, I thought the same thing.... it was boring. I think people that say it was fun, just think its fun because youre flying.

If you think they are uncomfortable dont bother going on a Vekoma Flying Dutchman I can deal with the B&M Flyers, even when stuck in the prone position for a while, but those darn Vekoma seats/backsupport-things killed my back

I totaly agree. id have to say it was a one loop wonder. it sucked being in that position waiting to get off in the station. I wouldnt go on the ride again unless there was a very minimal wait. There was nothing to the ride except the first loop.

I went on it yesterday for CAD. It was a walk on because nobody was there because 1. Kingda Ka hasnt opened yet and 2. It was raining off and on. I didnt wait for the front because it was a couple train wait, so I just walked onto the 4th row. It wasnt that bad, but it still deserves a five. I had a good time trying to identify the different types of grass they had, which is about the only thing that kept me from falling asleep /: And then coming back into the station, someone puked all over when we were hanging there in the flying position. How lovely.

I think this ride would have been amazing if it had more drops instead of turns. The turns were slow and boring. The inline twist was subpar. The big first drop and pretzel loop were the only cool parts. Maybe when we some some non-clone flyers here in the US well be in for a treat.
