This review is written with the help of my two nieces (ages 8 and 6) who told me to give it a ten. I wont do that but know that all of the young ones in my family and their friends rate it as the best ride on the boardwalk. We spend every weekend of the summer at the Jersey shore and visit the boardwalk an inordinate amount of time. The Flitzer always has one of the longest wait times of ANY of the rides. It is bumpy and hard on your waist around turns. It is short and the "brakes" are still handled by a human operator which usually results in head-snapping stops. I would never intentionally go on the Flitzer by myself. That said, this ride is not intended for me or any adult. I tolerate it and even get a slight thrill out of it. My nieces, however, would ride it all night if given the choice. Give it a ten if you are somewhere between 5 and 12, rate it much lower if you are an adult.
