You damn right its supposed to be rough!, thats what a woodie is all about right!?!
Red Rascal on 4/1/2003 4:52:50 PM said:
Yeah, if you want a smooth ride go on a steel coaster.
CoasterMac on 4/1/2003 5:01:27 PM said:
thats why i love steel coasters. if i want a though ride ill hit a Mean Streak, or a Grizzly (PKD), or a Cyclone (SFNE), or a Predator (SFDL). if i want height, inversions, speed, and (hopefully, depening on manufacturer) a smooth ride, ill take my steel anyday!
SFGA_fan on 4/1/2003 7:12:55 PM said:
I dont mind the roughness, but the trim brakes all over this ride really hurt it. If it didnt have the brakes it would probably be as fun as it looks.
CoasterMac on 4/1/2003 7:29:53 PM said:
ur right, they do cut down on the enjoyment factor by quite a bit, if they could have built it so it didnt need the trims, so it could complete the circuit with the speed it has, it would have been more fun, and might even have had more air-time!
SFGA_fan on 4/1/2003 10:07:21 PM said:
Besides the brakes it seems like a real good ride.
Red Rascal on 4/5/2003 1:10:09 PM said:
It is a good ride. If you sit in front, the ride is pretty smooth. It never has lines so thats a plus.
CoasterMac on 4/7/2003 9:20:40 AM said:
What ride did u ride? i waited a half hour for Mean Streak, both times! ok granted it isnt that much of a wait compared to MF or Raptor, but still it was more of a wait than for Gemini, or the Creek Mine. but the ride is more than worth a mere 30 min. in line!
Red Rascal on 4/7/2003 6:39:44 PM said:
I bet the people who say this ride is way too bumpy still go on it.
CoasterMac on 4/8/2003 8:53:14 AM said:
yeah, ur right about that, they complain, but they still ride the thing. its that way with me and SRoS at SFNE. i used to complain about how it wasnt the best coaster in the world, but id sitll wait the hour and a half to ride!! i still dont think its anywhere near the best, but i know its a great one!

I say that Big Dipper at WoA is way too rough and I avoid riding it everytime I visit the park. Last time Ive been on it was like 2 years ago.
CoasterMac on 4/8/2003 7:52:11 PM said:
so u go to SFWoA offten? home park is it? i gotta get out there, i went to CP once, and i wanted to just stop at SFWoA, but we didnt have time while we were there!
Red Rascal on 4/8/2003 8:02:06 PM said:
I try to go to WoA every weekend since I have a pass. Unfortunately yes it is my home park but I consider CP my home park because its close also. WoA has many quality coasters but they dont take care of them, thats why I avoid them.
MagnumMan on 4/8/2003 8:52:26 PM said:
Never go to WoA. It is the prime example of what a park shouldnt be. Sorry about that Big Red, but theres no getting passed it.
SFGA_fan on 4/8/2003 9:07:17 PM said:
I didnt mind it, they have some quality rides there.
CoasterMac on 4/9/2003 10:34:43 AM said:
i want to get there at least once, for the rides, not the quality of care or the maintenence of the park. and i have never been to SFWoA, but i believe that CP is probably a much better home park, and i would rather affiliate myself with CP than SFWoA, from what iv heard at least!
MagnumMan on 4/9/2003 10:57:59 AM said:
Well thats the problem, SFGA. I know they have some awesome rides there and some are on my Top 10 (The Villian is the best wooden coaster on the entire planet, no contest and SUE & B:KF are great coasters as well). But to carry honors like that, the atmosphere, service, and overall appeal has be acceptable. This is where the park falters. It was dirty all aroung the park and the water was filthy, especially in the "Hurricane Harbor" section where the water slides were (Hooks Lagoon was the only place where the water seemed clean, because of the kids most likely). Service was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E (There might as well not be a guest services. All the employees there were rude and passive) and security was non-existant (A full-fledged fight broke out in the middle of the park, in front of traffic, and had to be stopped by no one else but the "cotton-candy man". One of my friends got punched in the head "accidentally" and I got swung too. Luckly, the cotton-candy man broke it up just before we both got into it.) Plus, I think SF has bitten off more than they can chew adding the former SeaWorld to SFWoA. Its usually empty and really has nothing to do. It definitly doesnt have the same charm that SeaWorld adds to their parks. This is the worst SF in the chain, and they have to do some serious work to do if they ever want satified customers to come back.

If they add that rumored hyper to the wild life side, many people will flock to that side. I go to that side because of Bermuda Triangle.
SFGA_fan on 4/9/2003 6:55:36 PM said:
Yeh I agree that the park itself is in pretty poor condition, even though being next to a lake was pretty cool, I guess I was just saying it was worth a trip to experience the rides.
Red Rascal on 4/9/2003 7:02:58 PM said:
The rides are good, just dont expect anything else good from the park.
CoasterMac on 4/10/2003 8:00:12 AM said:
as long as the rides are worth it, but im not surprised that conditions in the park arent spectacular!
MagnumMan on 4/10/2003 12:42:21 PM said:
Bermuda Triangle was a rip. Period. Ive been on SO MANY better and more "engaging" simulators. It wasnt worth the 45 min. wait
Red Rascal on 4/10/2003 4:10:31 PM said:
It was added when Sea World still owned the park. Its the only "true" simulator Ive been on so I like it.
MagnumMan on 4/10/2003 7:25:10 PM said:
Oh, I see. The best Ive been on would have to be Back To The Future. Its one of the most quality rides ive ever seen and you can tell where the money that was invested in it went, as soon as you step inside the queue.
CoasterMac on 4/11/2003 9:55:02 AM said:
I know, i loved Back to the Future, it is my favorite simulator too, though i havent really been on that many my self, i still enjoyed that one!
MagnumMan on 4/11/2003 12:42:21 PM said:
Ive been on a good amount.
Red Rascal on 4/12/2003 8:42:31 AM said:
It is a pretty good ride but, when you ride it over fifty times it gets boring and old. Its still a good way to escape the heat on a hot day.
MagnumMan on 4/12/2003 5:50:24 PM said:
I only rode it once, so I appreciated what it had a lot.
Red Rascal on 4/12/2003 10:43:06 PM said:
Its also themed very nicely outside the building. I think that plane in the front is real and same with that helicopter. It seems to be the most themed ride in the park.
MagnumMan on 4/14/2003 12:45:09 PM said:
Definitly. Except for maybe the (now-defunct) Kongfrontation.
Red Rascal on 4/14/2003 4:09:41 PM said:
No, Im talking about Bermuda Triangle. It seems to be the best themed ride at WoA.
CoasterMac on 4/15/2003 9:33:59 AM said:
what ever happened to the Kong?!?!!
MagnumMan on 4/15/2003 10:02:17 AM said:
Oh, I see. I knew something had to be wrong when you mentioned a helecoptor LOL. & To CoasterMac: The actual ride was less than horrible & it didnt have very much satifaction because of it (lines were long, but people came off like "what was that?" I did, for one!). It also grew outdated and, like most of the rides at USF, UN-Believable because of the "guides". Still, I dont think it deserved to be closed, just updated with the same theming but maybe a roller coaster ride instead of the stupid "tram tour."
CoasterMac on 4/16/2003 8:52:53 AM said:
oh, thanks, i was on it when i was like 11, so i liked it then. guess ill never be able to re-evaluate it though! ur right, it would be cool to have had them put a coaster inside there, istead of the sim.
MagnumMan on 4/16/2003 10:54:27 AM said:
Well, no you wont, unless you want to fly to Hollywood. Otherwise, well just have to wait for Mummy to come out in Kongs place.
