Apologies to Larry. Goliath is what my home park has been waiting years for. Long before Superman arrived, a hypercoaster was the *in* rumour. In late March, after watching it ride above the Georgia Scorcher and the parks entrance, I finally got to give the bad boy a shot. Initial impressions - I liked it. A lot. But thought it was 3rd in the chain of B&M hypers. Try explaining that to a couple of friends who absolutely loved the ride. As the ride wore in a bit, I gained a greater appreciation of it. Its now one of my absolute top-level steel coasters. Goliath delivers a great ride - the first drop is steep and short but it gives some nice floater. The next two hill follow up with much the same. I especially love the dive and turn over the parkway, excellent visuals both on the ride and driving into the park. The helix is where its at baby. When running well, the ride steams into the helix and produces some killer Gs by the time it gets to the bottom. Sadly, this is where it meets a trim. Normally I am not a huge trim-hater, and even now I have no problem, but it is worth noting that in early July it was really gripping hard. I hope they didnt turn it down a notch or two. Anyways, the banked turn is cool and all but not something I care for, and the ride finishes strong with a nice set of semi-ejector air over the brake run of the GA Scorcher. Overall, a tremendous ride that is just a great fit fo the park. We are blessed to have recieved it when we did, and I am grateful for this ride. Now, only if they didnt have to remove two other rides for it
