Review of Kingda Ka @ Six Flags Great Adventure

WOW! Since I am a season pass holder I went on a Kingda Ka Friday and had a ten minute wait at nine in the morning. I got front row and was excited. Four trains is incredible. The Launch made my stomach go all the way to the stunned Cedar Point people that lost the record again. Going up I was like HELL YA. On the way down all you see is the road and people were screamin and yellin. After that the camelback felt like a breeze and the turn in ended it. That was SO DARN AWESOME. It was nice and smooth with some good air on the camelback. Definitly the best ride in the world. Plan early if you are not a season pass cause you will have a two to four hour wait. Its Incredible and I suggest every coaster fanatic all over the world to ride it. My stomach is still gone. I went on ten times after that!!!!

Four trains is incredible? Then you would really be in awe at Cedar Point where they run five and have six. Still, the station is cool and they did an alright job with it.

Nice review, but I find it hilarious how many people act like CP is all distraught that they dont have the record. The way technology is moving you are lucky to have the record for more than a year.

Hey, the way I see it, KK just pushes Cedar Point harder to reclaim the record, or any other park for that matter. If records arent broken, then rides will never get faster....CP fanboys should just calm-down. Im sure their time will come again someday. As for Kingda Ka, I think it is great for SFGadv, but I dont see the ride as a "ground-breaking" or "earth-shattering" addtion....its been done before, its just bigger. But the ride will most certainly help GAdv out a lot

I will be happy if records keep getting broken. If that happens then parks will compete and get better.

I will go back to B. Funs comment which helps add fuel to the "Gosquan has not been to Cedar Point" debate. If 4 trains is awesome on Kingda Ka, you would have known how many trains Dragster ran and that would have been even more awesome, eh? Plus, Ill believe that you have been on this eventhough the camelback is not a breeze. I mean it is, but the back end is braked but you make it sound like you flew right through it and into the turn into the station. I might be getting too picky on detail now. And were those 10 rides on the same day or had they been on separate days because the most rides I was able to get in on a Friday ERT was 3.

I have been to three Kingda Ka Fridays. One day I was able to ride it 6 times with no wait because no one was really there. I rode it three times on one day. But on the other day I went there was still a 2 hour wait. And after that theres about 6 hour waits.

What bum gave me a bad review for this. If whoever has a problem with me then tell it to my face and dont dodge me. I never liked that system anyway.

dont take offense to it, we all have had our reviews rated as bad

I know its just if someone has a problem with me then they can tell me. Some fanboy out there that likes another park better or hates six flags. I have a hunch of who it is.

For the more novice critics among us, may someone explain how a coaster is able to run 4 trains when the ride is over so quickly? I dont understand the advantage of this on such a quick coaster. It seems like they wouldnt be able to run more than 2 of them concurrently, if that. Thanks.

They have a double loading station on Kingda Ka. This enables them to run 4 trains. The station is two sided with two trains on each side. As two trains are pulled out onto the launch platform, the two trains on the other side are being loaded. Then, when the trains from the other side are coming back into the station, the ones that were just loaded are taken out onto the launch.
