V2 Announcement
Submitted By: bb_dg on 2/28/2002 1:25:00 PM
The rides construction and modification announcement was made and looks like the first spiral will be slanted 45 degrees to one side. Sounds very interesting.

Six Flags Marine World’s newest, tallest, fastest ride, Vertical Velocity, will take on a unique new twist for the 2002 season. The coasters spiraling front tower will be lowered from a nearly vertical lift-off to a more diagonal 45-degree angle. Riders will rocket out towards the park’s entry plaza at speeds of up to 70 mph and soar overhead. The popular ride’s intimidating back, non-twisted tower will remain a 90 degree, face-first plunge back into the station.

“Our newly-designed speed ride will be the first of its kind in the world,” said Joe Meck, Six Flags Marine World general manager. “The new track layout will deliver new sensations and more fun for Vertical Velocity riders, and add an exciting element for our guests as they enter the park."
