Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the depth of the new coasters for 2004. There were certainly were some great ones like Thunderhead, Storm Runner, Revenge of the Mummy, and the under construction Silver Bullet, but there didn't seem to be much depth. From what it seems right now, 2005 should be a much better year for new coasters. There have been many confirmed plans already, and rumors about coasters that are bound to happen. Why should 2005 be a good year....

Hydra:The Revenge - When Dorney Park recently announced all of the specs for the new B+M floorless, my reaction was WOW. Although not that tall, this coaster looks to be very unique. It has a pre-lift "jojo roll" and a very interesting inversion order. This one should be one of the better floorlesses.

Unknown, BGT - Busch Gardens Tampa has announced a new coaster and it has been ALL but confirmed that this will be a B+M dive machine. It's about a 99% chance it will. Although unofficial, BGTGuide has some interesting claims about the layout that they say are credible. If they are right it will be a red and blue dive machine with a 215', 88 degree drop, an immelman, a hammerhead turn, and a splashdown. Whoa.

Intamin Rocket Coaster, SFGAdv - SFGAdv is building an Intamin rocket coaster for the 2005 season. There are rumors that the name will be "Maxx" but that might be false. With a length of 2400' i doubt it will beat out the Dragster but what will the layout be? Will it be a twisted layout like Xcelerator, have inversions, or simply be a shorter TTD. The only thing that's pretty well understood is that it will be taller than Nitro at 215'.

Hades - Mt Olympus theme park, home of the cyclops, is constructed there next wooden coaster. Although not very well known this one should be great. This is the first attempt at a coaster by the Gravity Group, a takeoff and the now extinct CCI.

Kanonen - At Liseberg, in sweden, another Intamin rocket is confirmed. This one will be rather tiny topping out at under 100' but will feature two inversions and a very short launch track.

Escape de Superman - a morgan junior hyper at SFMex

The two Italian Job:Stunt Track models

Powder Keg:A Blast Into The Wilderness - some wierd rumors about this one at Silver Dollar City. They're rebuilding buzzsaw falls and making some huge changes. Rumor has it that S+S is turning into a launched water coaster - wierd.

--------------------
-Millennium Force=Ultimate Coaster
-SROS (sfne)=Airtime Heaven!
-Montu=Best Coaster With Inversions
-Hulk's Launch=Best Element out There
-Top Thrill Dragster=INSANE!!!!!!

Don't forget BGW - there's a good chance (not 100% though) that their attraction MAY be an indoor coaster.

I actually have heard that rumor about an indoor coaster at BGW. Although with all of the nice job that Busch has done with landscaping and terrain, an indoor coaster would not let them show that ability.

Yes, Bobfunland, I think this will be one of the best years in a few years.

It's going to let BGW show what they're best about: themeing.

By the way, Hades looks ridiculous. It has gone under the radar but wow does it look awesome. Check out these pics....

Does that look pretty tall to you?

Does that look pretty steep to you?

Nice First Hill

Can somebody say next year's Thunderhead?

^That first drop looks sweet. Talk about steepness

The two Italian Job coasters look spectacular. I still can't believe that PCW is getting a real coaster.

Im most looking forward to seeing Hydra, Silver Bullet, and BGT's coaster come together. Those three B&M's are all going to be high profile

Yeah, I mentioned that one also in my original post. Could be a launched water coaster, because S+S is getting involved with its rebuilding.

Hades would be in a different category than Thunderhead. What I meant was that it is being overshadowed by some other new coasters but could end up being one of the best of the pack. Don't forget, Thunderhead was being overshadowed by the construction of Storm Runner and Revenge of the Mummy.

What's so great about Silver Bullet? If you ask me, it looks kinda normal

Nothing is too great about it, it's just B&M's first large invert in a while. I'm not dying to ride it like I am for Hydra and the BGT coaster.

I don't like the way Hades looks. I hate the way wood coasters with steel supports look. It would look so much better with wood supports

I agree, but I like how Gemini looks, so the reverse can be good.

Gemino would probably look horrible without the wood supports

I think Silver Bullet looks great! It's pretty original for a large B&M invert. It also looks to be very photogenic and has half of the ride going over water.

I was not at all comparing Hades to Thunderhead they're two totally different ideas. All I was saying is that like Thunderhead, many people have not been talking about Hades while under construction but looks to be an excellent coaster.

Well no duh, that's because we know very little about Hades since Big Chiefs press release told little about it besides it being a massive woodie. However, on the major coaster sites you'll find threads over 9 pages about it.

Well, I'd say that its average. They do have one of the highest quantities, but certainly not the best of quality flats.

Yeah I think a flat will be next also. Although I have seen some rumors about CP looking to buy one of those suspended "soaker" coasters. I haven't heard good things about them and don't really want to ride one but I have heard that they are very popular, have long lines, and families like them. I don't know, just some rumors I heard.

CP definately should NOT get a suspended water coaster, they have horrible capacity. It takes about a half an hour just to board in the station at Hersheypark.

Yeah, the capacity on those things suck. 4 people per car isn't acceptible for CP standards. The lines would be terrible

I have to say that CP was among the best in station management and getting trains rolling. The Thunderhead was real good too, suprising for a bunch of hicks

Haha. Yeah, Dollywood does look like it has an interesting atmosphere.
