Ok .. question for those who can help ...

Planning a New England trip and I want to include Lake Compounce and Canobie Lake. However, only have one day to do them both :-(

So here's my question, they are only 2 hours apart ... How long does it take to do each park properly? I know small parks usually have less wait times so I can get more rides in per hour and such, but how long does it take to do each park proper (not just the coasters!!) on a Sunday? Howabout a Saturday?

Anyone think it's possible to do both fairly well in one day?

Well .. right now my trip is a definite for

8-14 Dorney Park
8-15 Knoebel's Grove & Coney Island
8-16 Canobie Lake and/or Lake Compounce
8-17 Six Flags New England
8-18 Six Flags Great Adventure

But, I could use a lil more advice than "luck." By the way, out of sheer mass opinion, which of the two (Canobie Lake or Lake Compounce) should I hit if only one is an option?

I've never been to Canobie, but my suggestion is to hit it up first thing in the morning, and then at about noon head over to LC. On a Saturday LC is going to be busy, but you must get some night rides on Boulder Dash. Wildcat is OK, and Zoomarang, well, it is a boomarang, not much there. Their flats are mediocor, but they have an interactive darkride (not as good as DOT), and the skyride is a must do, but it will take 30 minutes out of your day.

If you can only do one though, do Compounce.

If I can, I will get off Friday and meet you up at Knoebels Can't get enough of the place. If not, I will definately be able to make it out to SFGAdv after work on Monday. I'll let you know.

Very cool ...

Looks like I'll prolly by doing Canobie Lake and saving Lake Compounce for next year. I need to meet some family for dinner that night, so I'd rather spend a good half-day/ 3/4 of a day at Canobie then try to squeeze them both in and be in New York by 8ish. I need to hit Canobie for two reasons, want to see the park & want to say hi to some old friends of my father's and mine who are now up there.

Look forward to seeing you Black, you should still have my cell. If not, I'll email it to you (mine works anywhere :-) ) I'm leaving Knoebels about 5 or 6pm, just FYI, so I can make 3 to 4 hours at Coney Island (been dying for the Cyclone). I should be at SFGAdv from opening to 6 or 8 ish. (have an 8 hour drive back to Cinci right after that, ugh!).

Alas, I can't get off on Friday, but I can still easily meet you at SFGAdv on Monday. When I go after work I usually get there at 6 at the latest, usually earlier.

Also, I can make Coney, probably at about the same time you get there. Email me your cell number, I did not save it.

At Canobie, make sure not to miss the Yankee Cannonball. You will be amazed of how much air this small coaster delivers...YC is the best ride in the park.

Ok .. need a rallying vote from THEMEPARKCRITIC users ...

Planned this park vacation (listed above) ... but found out today girl I was seeing stole some credit cards of mine and ran up over $3,000. So, obviously, she's not going now.

Here's the question, do I make the park quest alone?

I am sorry to hear that, but absolutely. There is nothing wrong with riding solo. That is often how I visit parks since my friend aren't into amusement parks like I am.

I hate to hear that. Definitely go, anyway - it'll probably help get things off your mind.

Well ... thanks to the financial situation, high priced motel rooms, and my inability to handle the drives solo.. I won't be making the trip THIS WEEKEND.

Still going to make it out to at least four of the above parks before the season is out, so I'll catch up with you then Black7. I'm headed to Cedar Point on Thurs & Fri just to get away, may head over to SFA and PKD over this weeknd or next.
