i guess its about time i get around to writing up a TR for coaster con last week. the first leg of the con was at BGW, a great park in virginia. the following is just an overview of the event because this TR would be insanely long if i went through a whole week of coasting mentioning every detail. enjoy

SUNDAY JUNE 15th

left the house bright and early at 8 in the morning so that we could check in to the hotel and register by 2. i volunteered to help with the selling of merchandise and did that for a few hours during registration. kind of fun but kind of boring at the same time but i needed to do that since i got some free stuff last year.

we were in the park by 5 and i went straight for alpengeist which i had not ridden yet even though ive been to the park a few times. a great ride and much better than talon. did some other rides and coasters and went to the opening dinner for ACE. the only thing i can say is even though i dont like absolutely reliable news and rumors, they really got the part about ACErs and food right. kind of disturbing in a way too.

anyways, ERT that night was on BBW, alpengeist and the bumper cars. good times on all of them but you really cant call it exclusive ride time when you have 713 people at an event. i believe i heard it called extra ride time somewhere and thats really all it is.

MONDAY JUNE 16th

decided to sleep in late this morning after not getting back from ERT until 1. we missed some show, no big loss. instead of going to BGW today, we went to water country which was included in the event. this is my favorite water park and we had a blast. aquazoid and malibu pipeline are my two favorites.

at night was ERT on apollos chariot and a few flats. the night ERT on apollos was really great. i got maybe 8 rides within and hour and a half which wasnt too bad. this is my favorite B&M hyper. one part i didnt remember from before was that little bit of air on the turn under the lift. that was very refreshing.

TUESDAY JUNE 17th

didnt go to the parks today but instead went to check out UVa. yea college and coasters, got to love it. not a bad school but i havent really looked at anything else so i cant compare it to anything yet.

today was also the transition day. we drove up to PKD, the host park for the convention and checked in to our hotel. more on that part of the trip in the second update. thanks for reading!

i left one really important detail out of my TR. for the ERT on apollos chariot, BGW added another train just for the ERT. they were running two trains all day but right before ERT they added a third train. great job BGW!!!

BTW, that pic was taken on the skyride and i just happen to be luck enough to get good timing
