First off, just let me say that TTD rocks because I'm sure that's what most of you are probably wondering about first. Anyway, here it goes.

Got to the park around 9:20, parked and walked to the Marina Gate (because it's closer to TTD). Used the coupons from the brochure CP will send you and got in for $34. 9:30 they start ripping tickets and by buddies and I get in around 9:32. We haul ass to TTD and get there by like 9:40 max. The Que was already packed and the line was coming out the midway towards Power Tower. We were told it would be about a 4 hour wait. It was.

They were only running the Blue, Red, and Green trains and not even very efficiently. Somtimes it would be up to like 2 minutes inbetween launches. I finally ride around 1:40 pm. First the good stuff.

The launch rocks! I rode front left seat on the red train and it is really fast and the white and red alternating tracks do enhance it. I got a little air on the crest, but I don't think even zero G - just a little out of my seat. Then the spiral on the descent is really cool and the rush extends all the way to the end. It's so smooth and before you can even appreciate one element you're in the next one, so it's 17 seconds of thrill.

Unfortunately the Christmas tree was not working, and there are no flags on the brake run like there are on the web animated simulation, and the ride capacity was horrible because of only 3 trains being run inefficiently. But, that's not a fault of TTD, I mean it's opening day - got to work the kinks out.

Then I got my TTD photo and a T-Shirt, dropped that stuff off in the car. Came back, did MF with about a 1 1/2 hour wait, then Magnum, Raptor and Mantis all with waits no longer than 10 minutes.

I met a girl and wound up socializing with her, and my buddies were pretty tired so I did not get to ride Wicked Twister so I can't tell exactly how it was running. But, I think that with the new supports it is going higher and getting a full 360 degrees of rotation now, not like the 270 or so it was getting last August. So, I think they're running that up to full, or about, full speed.

And that was about it - we left by 7:30 and had a great day. So, overall it was great and TTD as is (with a bad ride capacity and no Christmas tree) is still very very good, and I'm sure that in a few weeks when CP gets the kinks out it'll be fantastic.

*Wildcat looks awesome with it's new paint job, and Mantis has a new paintjob too and that looks nice and shiny.

**Raptor ran fast for me - hardly any deceleration at the break run.

They weren't doing it for TTD opening Day, but yeah if they're doing it, ride other stuff in the morning and get a short wait on MF and ride TTD by Freeway. I think they hand them out at noon this season (word of mouth), I remember last year was 11:00 a.m.

yeah 4 hours is too long for ANY ride if u ask me. It could be the first coaster to launch u into orbit and I wouldn't wait 4 hours...ok maybe I would but still lol.

I had a GREAT day, and TTD really does rock. I just wanted to give an accurate description of it and point out that it's not being run efficiently and the Christmas tree isn't working and there are no flags on the brake run. But, TTD could possibly be my favorite coaster. I don't know though, becuase I also love X, S:ROS @ SFNE, and Millenium, but I've had 2,2, and about a dozen rides on them respectively. So, after having only ridden TTD once it's still got the bonus of being new. I'd love to get another ten rides on X, S:ROS @ SFNE and TTD each and then pick. But why pick a favorite - they're all very very good!

The lights are there, just weren't operating. They did have cool sound effects, like the revving of an engine and then squeeling tires, but only the sound, the visual wasn't working.

I'm not sure - there's definitely the visual lights and the auditory sound - there might be a smell. When we were on line we did smell a gas/oil smell. We didn't imagine that. If it was intended or not, I'm not sure.
