I got up at 3:00am to get ready since we needed to be there early. My brother and I were on the road by 4:00. With around 5 hours of sleep I was happy to also be riding with my good friend Mount N. Dew. We got to the park at 6:15 and parked on the park side parking lot. We first checked in at the ACE VIP booth then walked over to the media booth were we were given Mr. Six glasses and red bowties.

The park is looking good this year from what little bit we were able to see. The fiberglass tiger figure that was in storage a few years back has been set up by in the side hill just by the photo emporium. The fountain/waterfall at shipwreck fall was operating. The landscaping in the area I walked through was pretty good. Even the thunderbolt had some work on the Scaffolding.

The ride itself was great. The ride would be good even without the spinning aspect. The coaster is compact and a short ride. The line long the main ramp is a short 15 minute wait. With a full queue you likely could expect an hour to an hour and a half wait. I road the coaster 55 times over my 11 hours at the park. My brother and I took some time and with two people tried out all the combinations we could think of on the car. We found that two rider on the far sits, the right if your looking at the coaster at the air gats, is the best place to sit for optimum spinning.

The day itself was great. A live band Pandemonium played and they had Breakfast and dinner. I got to talk to two Pats football players. Didn’t know it was them at the time. I also talked to reps from corporate, meet the GP of the park, and met a rep, Pete, From Gestlaur. They even had Mr. Six there. It was allot of fun. How often to you get to stand Shoulder to shoulder with a football star and talk to the Mayer of Agawam at a buffet. We even got free Mr. Six Pandemonium

Some info from around the park. On top of work on thunderbolt they also changed out the seat belts on Cyclone. From what I hear is they did do some work on Superman. Apparently they did switch over to the infrared setup and removed the sit belts. One train is ready but the other won’t be for a few more weeks. The coaster has had its seat belts replaced with the same belts as Pandemonium and Cyclone.

We left a bit after 5:00pm. I was sun burned and a little sick form the heat and totally worn out. I got 55 great rides on the coaster and many of them were intense. Do to chance a few were mild but I needed a few of those mild ones. The lives performances and were allot of fun. Flashback was testing allot of the day which helped remove the eerie silence.

There was little to be disappointed about. There wasn’t allot of media for a media day two TV stations showed up and allot of radio stations. The only big problem is that this area of the park has no shad except for the food stand at Toon Town.

Thats the one thing that sucks about some events, since I am horrible at waking up..

Yes, I read elsewhere that there are new seatbelts, so hopefully superman can return to the great coaster that it was pre-may 2004.

Well, its just a spinning coaster, it's no B&M or hyper

Sounds like a fun day at the park, oh, and from your words it looks like SF is improving up there too

I love spinners. I'm still waiting for my idea of a spinning suspended to come to life.

55 Times???

Talk about an iron constitution!!!

I live down the street from the park and saw the crowds making their way in that morning. I was heading off to work at the time. Later that night the local TV station did a report on the new ride...it actually looks fun...I was sceptical at first about a "spinning" coaster (I never heard of one). But I'll be heading down there in a few days to get photoed for my season pass. The park is open daily this week for Spring Break, so I'll go at night during the week when the lines are not so long.

Nothign else was open this day was for the MSP coaster only. They did have a live band, meals etc. so there was other things to do.

I spent 1.5 hours on te Turkish Twist at Canobie so this wan't too bad.

I like spinners too (with the exception of Rotors and Chance twisters) but I can only do them in moderation. 1.5 hours on ANY kind of spinning ride would give me a permanent case of vertigo.
