i was talking to my students about how the brain works. like i had them write down a number between 1-5. simple probablity would be 20% but your brain thinks 3. so did the experiment and mor then half stood up for picking three. then i had a paper with my prediction on it.

so with amusement parks anything you have noticed like always go left when then have two lines. the tips could even be specific like head to mexico first when the world side opens at epcot. also things like second seat on a coaster that has a huge line for front seat since people think there are huge lines for all the seats toward the front.

If I know a coaster has a great view from the front and it is a four across I will head for the 2nd row for a couple of reasons. Inevitably a group or two ahead of you will be waiting to pair up with a group on the first row line so you can get a quick ride in row two. Also, if you pay attention to the groups of people talking to each other in the first row you can also sometimes spot a group of three and head through the 2nd row queue gate as it is about to close and hop in the empty seat in the front row.

You have to be careful with that at Cedar Fair parks though. The roller coaster operators at trained to consider that to be line jumping. It is just a matter if they call you on it or not. I know that someone got called on it once on Steel Force. There was only one person in the very front, and a kid ran up from like the 7th car to ride with him and they sent him back. And it happened another time on Talon. Someone from the 2nd line went to fill in the front but got shut down. That is one of the really dumb things about the rules at Cedar Fair.

those rules are what keeps CF so good. You have to admit that you hate when somone cuts in front of you in line.

I always get the attention of the ride op closest to my side of the train and ask politely before "sneaking". I've done it at CP and Dorney, all you have to do is ask nicely. Maybe the fact that I'm not a teenager, they cut me some slack

Yeah, that is true. If you ask then you are fine. It is always the jerks that think that they can get away with it that get busted. That is kind of what makes Cedar Fair top notch though. I didn't mean to sound like I was bashing them or anything. They try to make everything fair for a good experience. That is a great thing.

jumping at the front like that can be great if you are in a group of three. also sometimes just paying attention when they ask for groups of whatever can sometimes help you also. fastpassing the land ride at epcot works good especially if you are eating at the garden grill

1. thing I noticed is that if you go behind someone who is talking to another group of people, if they don't get the same train they will let you go in front of them. It happened to me a lot at CP!

Yeah that happens a lot. It never happens to me at Great Adventure because they are all just a bunch of city pricks. Not saying that everyone from the city are pricks, but you get the idea. I like nice people who do that.

Except the fact they are not line jumping, they are filling a seat that would otherwise go empty anyway. Personally, I see no problem with this, it increases capacity, and that makes everyone a little happier in the long run.

Yes, but I hate when they hold up a train until every seat is filled, as they did on Borg. It drove me nuts, and hurt the capacity. Try to avoid these rides on not-so-busy days, becuase it can become a hassle.

sounds like the staff might not be fully up to speed. When I went there was an employee asking people how many were in their party and assigning them to specific rows and the train was always ready to load when the unloading was done.

I did that thing where you wait in the 2nd row and go into the 1st if it's partially empty on Apollo's Chariot at busch Gardens yesterday. Nobody cared.

As did I, but on Monday. That's how I got 2 out of my 3 front row rides

Carowinds had a cool policy where if there was no onein your row once you got back to the station, you could ride again (but only twice in a row max). Thats how I got a ton of Top Gun rides.

KBF was very lax on their reride policy as long as no one was waiting for you row you could keep it. I really piled on the rides on Ghostrider and Xcelerator.

Towards the end of the night at Six Flags America, they would let you ride again if no one was in your row, however, if there was someone in your row, you could get off and grab another empty seat without exiting.

I can't imagine that with the line nazi on the Wild One at SFA. Go back, go back, go back, you go back, don't cut under the rails.
