When I heard that the name for the new flyer at Paramount's Carowinds was "BORG Assimilator", I realized that bad coaster names have reached a new level. It made me start to think about some coasters with very bad names. Here are some coasters that strike me as having horrible names:
-Top Thrill Dragster (Insignificant compared to coaster) -AIR (So damn boring) -Silver Star (Corporate sponsorship sucks) -Pepsi Max: Big One (Sponsorship and uncreative)
Obviously these are just a few, and if I really thought there would be others. What do you think are the worst coaster names?
-------------------- Ben Leibowicz -Superman Ride of Steel (SFNE) rules! -Nitro, Montu, and Hulk are close behind.

Haha- Well said, Chet. RC-48 is pretty dumb. I don't like when numbers are included in the names. However, I must say that Apollo's Chariot is a pretty good name. Obviously, calling something Coaster is just retarded. Thats like calling a place Theme Park.

The coaster itself doesn't look too intimidating either, but what can I say, I've never ridden it.

I think the "Crazy Flying coaster" is just a bad translation. Corckscrew Superman/Batman (overused)

FYI: Magnum XL-200 was not a bad name and the numbers and letter were not arbitrary when the coaster opened. XL - conotates Extra Large 200 - repeseneted that fact that is was the first coaster to reach 200 feet the name actually fit this historic coaster perfectly

No way! Weiner Looping is the coolest name ever! . It has a dumb name but the ride looks really cool. Of course most Schwarzkopfs are cool.

Borg Assimilator
Anything involving Batman or Superman at a Six Flags park is bad with the exception of Superman: Ride of Steel and Batman: The Dark Knight.

Me thinks the following Batman and Superman rides also have good and apropos names: Batman and Robin: Chiller (SFGAdv) Superman: Ultimate Flight Superman: The Escape
but I certainly agree they do't need to name every coaster after Batman and Superman

Yeah- I also would have to say that the superhero names at SF parks are a bit overused. Superman: Ride of Steel isn't too bad a name, but I HATE when multiple rides have the same name. We have already established that names that are overly genreal, such as "coaster" are horrible, so no need to mention those again. I must say that Millennium Force is a great name, as it sounds very intimidating. Top Gun is pretty bad.

Ok ok, you win.
I also think Superman: The Escape is a stupid name. Where do you escape to? You just end up right back where you started (does that one have a historical reference? )

Don't forget about Kraken and Steel Eel, two other great names. Great White isn't that good though.
