Lots, I mean lots of senery. A good ending drop, big, steap, and uncoforting. A good log flume needs to twisted you around so that you dont know which way you are heading. It needs lots of water features, you should not get drenched but a little bit of water does need to get on you. Last, multiple drops and not just 4 fee, I mean 20-30 feet. Drops that seem like they never end are good like ones that go down and than up and than down.

that would mean that just about every flume isn't any good. For Example canobies flume has the two drops but note the double dip.

Santa's vilage and Funtown have great flumes but only one large drop. they have mini drops at about 4 feet. they are bolth good flumes but by that criteria wouldn't be.

many flumes have only one drop.

This is just my opinion. I am not a huge fan of log flumes. I do like them only if they are well done. There are always execption to everything. I went on one log flume ride that had no drops. It was full of water featers and turn tables, and slight downward inclines. What made this ride neat was evey thing around you. You had no idea what was around the corner. My description is my fantasy Log Flume ride. I dont think there is a log flume out there that matches my discription. At least none that I know of.

Its hard to describe. I think it is a combination between alot of differnt things like turntables, waterfalls, drops, themeing, and overall look. Umph can be anything thou.

splash mountain is one of the most themed log flumes in the country... and probably the world.

SO what i get is you feel it shoudl have a mix of elements to keep the ride interesting. it shouldn't be plain.

Simply, Yes. An example is Splash Mountain. There are a few part to the ride that just take way to long. Keep surprising the rider.

I think the Amimatronics have a littel to do with it. they had to rework a few things a few years back and some of the Effects were turned off. I think they really need to make shure somthign is always haponing with the characters.

In my opinion I think theming, scenery, tunnels, hills, and waterfalls make a good water flume. My 2 favorites are Jurassic Park @ IOA, and Splash Mountain @ WDW.

Well JP is a shoot-The-chute ride not a flume. But why the big need on Theming?
