A company called SAT has revolutionized the way that Vekoma boomerangs can be ridden. They have invented a train using only lap bars that can be used on boomerangs! So far reports of the ride are very positive. I hope some of the US' boomerangs eventually get this train.

I'm not sure that unpadded steel digging into one's midsection would be such a huge improvement, but at least it would spread the pain to other areas of the body.

What a bad idea that is, the only thing holding you back on the first very slow first hill is the OTSR, that thing is going to hurt just as much, if not more then the Vekoma trains did.

Still, it will reduce the headbanging. Also, now SAT can focus on padding the lap bars now that they know that the coaster train itself works well.

This sounds pretty cool, would love for them to get these on the sea serpent at wildwood, so i can put my hands up while going through loops, i love doing that, thats why the maverick is my favorite coaster that goes upsidedown.

This is kind of like what Premier did years back. I would call that a major improvement, even though the restraits can be a little uncomfortable at times and a little cramped.

I think boomerangs are fine the way they are. I don't get any headbanging as long as my head is back and firmly up against the back of the seat.

I don't get much headbanging on these, but the ride still is a bit uncomfortable and I could get head-aches when I go on boomerangs multiple times in a row. I like boomerangs right now, but I can imagine them being better with these trains. There wouldn't be any headbanging and you would be able to get a great view.

I agree with Herc, I don't mind them the way they are now. As long as it has a Vekoma train; Arrow trains are a no go.

Although, the new trains look interesting. I'm not too crazy about the torture device looking lapbars but, as someone said, the'll be padded.

I'll tell you what lapbars would be great on a lot of looping coasters, those S&S swing down bars that they have on SkySlings and Screamin' Swings. They are very comfortable and secure feeling with little restriction.

I like Premier's lap bar restraints too. I'm glad they replaced the over-the-shoulder restraints on their looping coasters.

By the way, which boomerangs have Arrow trains?

You actually like the Premier restraints? Good for you. They are an upgrade from the OTSR, but hell, they get tight.

I wasn't bothered by Italian Job's restraints.
