In two weeks I will be going on a mini amusement park hopefully to Rye Playland, Bowcraft Amusement Park, Keansburg Amusement Park, Lake Compounce, and Quassy.

Here's my plan.
Thursday: Rye Playland
Friday: Bowcraft and Keansburg
Saturday: Lake Compounce
Sunday: Quassy

How bad will the lines be on each one of these days?

Track Record
19 Wooden Coasters
54 Steel Coasters
73 Total Coasters

Are you going alone? if not you may want to hit Quassy on Saturday it's a car load day. LC's Crowds are very unpredictable, so it's hard to say.

I'm going to Quassy just for 1 or 2 hours, just stopping by to ride a few rides and then leaving on my way home.

So it will be more of a side stop. Makes sense.

i don't know anything about Bowcraft or keansburg Other then they have some coasters I'd like to ride. Crossbow has really cool looking trains.
But were are you traveling from because if your Coming up you come across those to parks before you get to Playland. also the high way by Playland goes right too LC.

I'm staying in Rye for the first two nights and then going to stay in Waterbury for the final night.

Also, regarding Lake Compounce how bad will the lines be for:
Splash Harbor (the entire water park)
Ghost Hunt (I can imagine this would be a nightmare)
American Flyers
Boulder Dash
Down Time
Sky Ride
Thunder River Raft Ride
Saw Mill Plunge

Saw Mill Plunge can get a big line during the day if it is hot. Ghost Hunt will also periodically have a long line when a lot of kids are in the park. I would ride Ghost Hunt early before the crowds arrive.

What would Ghost Hunt's line be at night?

^Probably shorter to the middle of the day when the park is filled with kids. I'm not certain becasue my crystal ball is broken.

I work at Lake Compounce, you have come to the right person. Saturday is our busiest day, with out a doubt. Boulder Dash will be running both trains, and the line won't be longer then 20-30 mins. Wild Cat hasn't ran two trains all season, so it probably won't, it could be anywhere from 20-30 mins too. Do you back a favor and don't sit over and axle for Wild Cat, sit in the middle seat of the last car, it has been running rough, but fast this year. Zoomerang is the best Boomerang I have ridden to date, give it a try, the line rarely long, but it has been down a lot lately. Downtime can get a good wait going, but it gives you a nice view. Thunder and Lighting is a good ride, probably will be running both sides. Don't bother with American Flyers, it is NOT KNOBLES (sp?) you will be very disappointed if you get your hopes up for it. But it will have no line, no matter what. Ghost Hunt gets a long line, but will be slower at night. There is hear say that they are getting 4 seater cars for it next year, which would help it's low capacity. Try Enterprise, it's a pretty good one. Considering it's Huss. Sky Ride is a must and has a large capacity. Saw Mill Plunge and Thunder Rapids will both have a long line, but they move along fast. Take a ride on the Carousel, it's beautiful. Just a but of Lake Compounce trivia, it was originally where Clipper Cove is now (you will know what I am talking about when you get there). I work in the water park, we will be busy, Anchor Bay is fun, try the slide. Mamouth(sp?) Falls is a good slide the line moves well, Lake Plunge is fun, don't get intimidated by the speech the attendant gives you, you won't die. Twister Sister is a good slide, but make sure you are wearing only a bathing suit or you will get stuck. Lights Out is fun but the line moves very slow. And other then that there is the Wave Pool and Clipper Cove. Otherwise have fun, Try the fried Oreos and the fried dough, they are both amazing. The potato path has really good fries too. The free soda is going to come in really handy, trust me. haha.

Prefabricated Track is for people who can't handle a real wooden coaster.

The eternal question..."Is this slide dark?"-The name is Lights Out

I've been to Lake Compounce 5 or 6 times, but not in a few years and never on a Saturday. Thanks for the information. What ride will you be working at in the water park if you are working on August 11?

Ghost hunts line is Shorter in the after noone but not by much. Zoomers also has has a steady line since opening. Last time I did splash Haber on a Saturday it took me 3 hours to hit everything onecs. it was busy that day. but we got on that all the rides and Saw the shows. The rides are run very efficiently so wait times are short.

I'll either be somewhere on Anchor Bay, Lights Out Top, Keepers Cottage Top, or Cabana Boat. Either way I will be attending something, unless I am just walking around cleaning, but that isn't likely.

Hmm... Did you go to the water park, I think I may have saw you.

Yeah I will be somewhere, just look for my name tag, my name is John. 437ING is my ID number, it's printed on my tag. If you think it is me just bring up the site or something, I'll know what you mean.

I can only go to Keansburg or Bowcraft on Friday and I'm leaning towards Bowcraft because it seems to have a better atmosphere. Also, I'm considering stopping by New Roc City (15 minutes away from Rye) for their 185ft S&S Space Shot on the third floor of a building.

Don't know much about either of the barks. I have seen sky shots of Bowcraft it's a very small park.

I think Keansburg is a little larger.

Bowcraft is cleaner and has the better coaster (Crossbow) but really nothing much else for non-kids. Pizza at Bowcraft is excellent.

Keansburg - Bumper cars (with a couple of Lusse cars remaining in the arena) and the unique Spook House would make me choose here. The food is also pretty good at Keansburg.

Well, I've reached my final decision. I'm going to Bowcraft as long as the weather is nice.

I'll be leaving tomorrow. The weather looks a bit shakey tomorrow night and Friday so my plan might get mixed up. I'll post a trip report when I get back.

Yeah, I saw it yesterday before I left. I did Rye Playland yesterday and had a great time. Today I probably am going to have to skip Bowcraft due to the weather in the area and instead just do Krazy City, a small indoor family entertainment center in Palisades Mall.

I'm working on it in Word and hope to have all of it posted by Monday.

Yesterday I ended up doing New Roc City (Space Shot and MaxFlight closed) and Krazy City.

I just did Lake Compounce yesterday. Boulder Dash gave me two exceptionally intense and amazing rides at long last.
