Since there hasn't been any action outside of the FON since Tuesday, I'm just going to start blazing some new topics.

So what flat scares the crap out of you?

On a very good run, the Flyers at Knoebels can be one really scary ride. The crazy thing is, you essentially have the control over the ride (as long as there isn't a SnapNazi manning the post) which makes it pretty funny that even though I'm scared as hell I just keep going full tilt.

I dont have any, but at the top of the stratosphere on the tilted glass... that was a rush They didn't have X-Scream or Insanity when I was there though but i'd have to say those if they were.

Any ferris wheel. I don't know why, but I just have this crazy fear about being stuck at the top of them one day or if one of the cars will just drop at its apex. Also, any Huss Enterprise scares me once in a while. I'm not the biggest fan of spinning rides, so that type of ride always makes me wonder if I'll be fine or not. Everytime I get off of it, I end up getting dizzy & staying that way for a really long time.

Hahaha... Me too on the ferris wheel front. I'm deathly afraid of heights, but I still keep going on them. Which is really weird, but... I don't know.

I don't mind spinning at all, but going upside down type of flat rides scare me too. I'm always really afraid of the upside down ones, then when I go on them they aren't bad. That does not apply for the ferris wheel though...

The Big Shot on the Strat tower gave me quite a scare, only because of it's location. So I imagine X-Scream and Insanity would get me quite a bit as well.

Other than that...there is nothing I can think of.

I just don't see how slamming into the stopper on that thing is safe. I can see doing it when it is, oh, 2 feet off the ground, but from all the way up there? That is nuts. I'm waiting for it to break.

let's put it this way - I got my x-Scream credit so I'm not riding it again.

OK.. example of how MESSED UP the Strat people are: they made the ride hit the stopper harder because the original premise of the ride "wasn't scary enough". I think either one of them could kill people, its just a matter of when. I mean X-Scream seems a little more "safe" to me seeing as it uses mags as the primary stopping device... I'm thinking the arm of insanity will snap (it didn't seem very smooth to begin with, the support structure seems weak, and they are going to start operating at higher windspeeds soon), sending riders crashing into the restaurant.

I still say our first plunge off the side was by far the scariest experience of my life. I hate those stupid rides.

BTW if you don't want to ride X-Scream, Knott's had one of the rides.. just on the ground

And if you are in the New York area, Rye Playland has one on the ground too.... you freakin' wusses.

I want to ride those things. I'm sure with my luck I'll be one of the dying souls.

I think either of those flats would be the scariest for me. I can't even imagine the lawsuit if either one of those break.

With X-Scream I'm more worried about the arm disattaching from the building versus the brake/stopper not working.

I'd go on them both.

Once.

This is a cool topic to discuss! For me it would be X-Scream on the Stratosphere Tower in Vegas, no question about it. As I stated in my review for the ride, I don't think I've ever had that kind of gripping fear on a ride in my entire life! I loved the ride, but it is definitely a huge scare for me. In fact, I would guess that Insanity may freak me out even more, but when we were there it was about a month before it opened.

I'd rather be coaster riding!

Zippers at carnivals still can frighten me along with Power Surges, but Power Surges only scare me a little because they're newer and I don't worry about falling out as much.

Double Shots also makes my heart-beat a tiny bit before the launch.
