As we proceed to scream and raise our arms to the more advanced coasters, i just can't help but think about those coasters of the past that u can't find anywhere anymore. Has anyone experienced those coasters? The only demolished coaster I've ridden is Viper (SFGreatAdventure) and Whirlwind.

a couple of defunct ones
Viper - SFGAdv
Lightning Loops - SFGAdv
Black Widow - Riverside Park (now SFNE)
Ultra Twister (SFGAdv) although it will end up rebuilt somewhere
Cyclone - Williams Grove
JetStar - Casino Pier
ShockWave - SFGAdv
RC-48 - Morey Piers
Southport (UK) - Cyclone
Hurricane - Myrtle Beach Pavillion
High Roller - Stratosphere Tower
Hercules - Dorney

I'm sure I rode something at PKI in 1992 or PKD in 1990 that is no longer there

I believe Larry meant Jet Star. It is easy to get it confused. Star Jet actually replaced Jet Star.

Herc - you are correct sir.

^^compared to today's coasters those three sucked. I thought they were the bomb when I rode them though. 2 hour wait for a loop, woohoo!

This is an interesting topic. I haven't been on a ton of coasters, but I actually have been on a handful of now defunct coasters:

Lazer Loop (Kennywood) - Scared the crap out of me as a kid. Rode it in its last year of operation.

Steel Phantom (Kennywood) - Not totally defunct I guess thanks to Phantom's Revenge. Was a pretty good ride, just too rough at the end.

Corkscrew (Geauga Lake) - Kinda a neat little ride. Not too rough, but I guess they figured they didn't need 2 rides that were similar (this and Double Loop)

High Roller (Stratosphere Tower, Vegas) - Total bore of a ride. Only thing going for it was the location.

I'd rather be coaster riding!

Kiddie Coaster (Enchanted Forest)- I rode this small kiddie coaster at Enchanted Forest in Hope, Rhode Island when little. It was an oval shaped kiddie coaster that was pretty boring. The park closed a few years ago.

Little Rickie's Little Twister- This was a small Herschell little dipper at Six Flags New England when it was Riverside. I rode it as a child and it was demolished when Riverside became a Six Flags park.

Rockin' Rider- This was a standard galaxi at Canobie Lake Park that is being replaced by a new frisbee ride next year, a Huss version. It will be called the Xtreme Frisbee.

I've been on the former Steel Phantom, the Laser Loop, The Thunderbolt of Coney Island (ages ago), and plenty more. I'm rather old.

It was a short lived coaster. They quickly removed it for the Hopkins Which was safer and was allot better on maintenance. According to the park the last coaster was a nightmare. but the exciting thing was it had a water splash.

You can add High Roller to that.
