What coaster do you think's the best coaster you've ridden that's under 100 feet tall? To me, Pheonix's the best coaster without a doubt. The airtime for that ride's freakin crazy, it has a good coaster length, it's smooth for its age, & overall, it's a classic Herb Schmeck design that's always in the Top 10 for Coaster Enthusiasts.

since The Cyclone and Phoenix are my 2 favorite to begin with I'll choose them followed closely by Avalanche.

55 feet of awesomeness that is hard to beat

80 feet tall though the real nice stat is the ~45ft. loops

The Phoenix and the Thunderbolt are both great.. and the Jack Rabbit. (I just went on the Phoenix a few hours ago.)

I was about to say Phoenix, but there goes Joe throwing me a curve ball. The more I think about it, the more coasters I come up with, Cyclone, Thunderhawk in it's glory days, LoCoSuMo, the list goes on.

Many wooden coasters are under 100 feet and are awesome. Steel, on the other hand, is hard to find. There are some great ones out there though:

Superdooperlooper
Space Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Ok I can't really think of anymore at the moment.

The Cyclone.

Recent years have brought us some outstanding wooden roller coasters well over 100 feet tall, but most of the enduring legends don't get much taller than that.

I completely forgot Cornball was only 55 feet. I thought it was somewhere between 80-100 feet. It certainly rules the under 60 foot division by a mile.

For me, it'd probably have to be Viper @ SFGAm. Mummy is a good steel one that I hadn't thought of until taco mentioned it.

I figured it was under 100' but had to look it up - honestly I don't think 55' is accurate (it seems taller) so I don't know if they were measuring from the station level which is 30 feet in the air or what... still a great ride under 100'

Count me into the group that was surprised to see Cornball listed at only 55 feet. Like larry, I figured it was somewhere in the 80-100 foot range. If that is indeed true, what an accomplishment - to be such a highly-ranked woodie and be that small.

RRC is ok, but it fizzles out at the end. The Mummy on the other hand is incredible until the very end.

According to RCDB, Colossus is 98 feet, 5 inches tall. So somewhere along the line, GAZZA goofed.

Yea I figured he was off, but it was funny he gave it credit for being under 100 feet then said it was 110 on his trip report.

Ya but it's expected. and It makes more sense to wait a couple more years my niece will still like Disney. she will be able to remember more of the trip. Not to mention ride more rides for the Adult admission price.

It is amusing. But coming from GAZZA, is it really much of a surprise? I don't think so, and I know you don't either.

Cannonball, come on, you could have at least pulled for Excalibur, a far superior ride.
