Does anybody know any news about Frontier City being bought by any other chain yet?

I haven't heard anything. I don't think Kennywood will buy it it's not a classic park which is what they go for. Family parks LLC might try but I don't see there being much of a demand for this park.

So I assume Six Flags is dropping them? Any chance of Busch or HERCO purchasing the park? I didn't even know that the park was being sold by Six Flags.

ACE magazine said it was being sold or closed at the end of the season. What is LLC and Herco. I've never heard of these chains.

Frontier City and the water park is going shut down at the end of this season. They own the park land but lease the water park land.

The big chains will never touch this small park. Cedar Fair, Busch, Kennywood, etc are all out. So smaller park chains looking to expand are our most likely chance. as for the Suggestions

HER Co (Hershey Entertainment and Resort Company) I don't see it happening. they once owned Lake Compounce and gave it up all they own now is the very local Dutch Wonderland.

Family Parks LLC(LLC stand for Limited Liability Corporation) is looking to expand and a smaller family park in that park of the Country might be a good choice.

I didn't know HERCO owned the Lake. Doesn't Kennywood Entertainment Corp. own it now?

You mean the Dance hall. It's to the side of teh restorant. also I've read many articals and help RCDB update the site on Lake Compounce. They only operated it for a couple years but added allot of atractions. But things got slow and Hershey had trouble operating it. they sold after only a couple yars. they even used the name Hershey Lake Compounce.

There are a few other Small park chains that also might look into the park.

The Lake's Dance Hall, Hershey's, or Kennywood's?

I've never been to Lake Compounce, but I go to Hersheypark and Kennywood each at least twice a year.

Your Questioning but what do you want answers to?

Lake Compounce is the oldest park in the US. it's a very traditional park but with Kennywood's influence it's added some amazing traditional and modern attractions.

^He wants to know which park has a Dance Hall with the historical display?

I assume it is The Lake since that is the park mrceagle is most familiar with.

I hope LLC buys it. I haven't been to this park yet. It's too far for me to visit. I live in Ohio. Is the park worth saving? How many coasters does it have? Does it have a water park?

What is LLC?

If you are talking about Cedar Fair, it is Cedar Fair LLC as in Limited Liability Corporation/Company. That is not a part of the standard, all-knowing name

I've explained to her what an LLC is and that it's "Theme parks LLC" as a company. but do you think that got through.

It's true, and quite unfortunate, that our site seems to be a magnet for morons and their kin. Still, we always mangage to get rid of them one way or another, in preparation for the arrival of the next one.

BTW - Nice callout, Scott, great catch buddy.

I miss the coaster draft he started, i still wonder what he was going to do with that. All I know is my park had a great collection of woodies.

What I have always loved is that this thread is called. SF Oklahoma. Not only is this not a flaged park The park is up for sale and leaving the chain. It shows so little understanding the subject.

Where did you hear/see this information? I haven't been to this park yet but in my opinion from The Guide To Ride 2000 I wouldn't rush out there to visit it unless they put in some modern coasters. Six Flags still owns the park it's listed on the website still.

It was froma SFI statment. as far as who will buy it CF after a less then spectaculare turn around form Gl is skeptical abotu buying a SFI park and the paramount purchase is goign to take allot of there Profits form the next many years.

Yes they still own the park but plan to sell the park at the end of the year. I think a big reason is it's small size and the Final No more Premier sentamint of the new SFI. Fronter City was premiers first park.

Jeez, little bit of an elitist mentality with some of you. "Coasterwom" registered 3/23/2001 and you are going to do him/her like that after 4 years? Seems a bit cold, no?
