It is about an hour between the two. Do Waldameer during the day, and then hop over to Conneaut at night. Conneaut is open until ten most nights. This is what I did earlier this year, and had no problem getting in everything I wanted to do, and then some.

Thanks for the advice.

10:00 is alot later than I anticipated Conneaut to be opened, that's nice to know.

BTW, Hercules, I am going down there for Pitch Black ERT, which is an event on Sept. 10 that includes lunch and ERT on Superman at night. It is an excellent event, and I highly recommend it for you. Plus, you DON"T have to be a club member, and it is the same price for everyone. I will post when I get more details on it. It is listed on my EVENTS page.

Cyclonic - I got the flyer and was planning go to until I realized that is the weekend of my softball playoffs. AARGH! I vow to make a Coaster Zombie event in 2006, maybe Mexico City

I think he meant "The parks in Mexico look pretty good. Being hidden down there gives them a huge disadvantage to more travelers."

Personally, I don't think Six Flags Mexico looks very good at all, except for their woodie Medusa.

Sorry, never heard of Tera Monica. Did a rcdb search, and I got nothing. Then I did a Google search, and all the returned results were Porn stars.

SFM looks somewhat desirable, if I were down in Mexico City for some reason I would definately stop by to take a look.

Please take the time to try and spell things correctly, or close to correct. Most of your posts, I can barely understand them. Type slow, correct, and everyone will be happy.

I think Lake Compounce is really underrated.

I visited for the first time on Saturday (see my trip report in the other forum), and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, Boulder Dash was great, but the park is a lot better than I expected. It goes beyond Boulder Dash. It is a pleasant place with a nice atmosphere and a lot more to do than I thought.

Those are mostly your tyipcal Six Flags complaints. You get them with every park. The park IS hit or miss. I had a bad visit earlier this year, but that was the only bad visit I had ever had at the park, and judging from later trip reports, they just had a very off day. I will be back in September, and I hope to have a better visit then.

BTW, Hercules, I am going down there for Pitch Black ERT, which is an event on Sept. 10 that includes lunch and ERT on Superman at night. It is an excellent event, and I highly recommend it for you. I was planning on heading down there for it when I got my first Coaster Zombies newsletter, but I have a wedding to go to that day. I'll be draging my girlfriend down there sometime in September though (I need to get good use out of this season pass at other places and use the coupons before the end of the season somehow)

I really enjoyed Lake Compounce myself. I am planning a little something for a day to make it a SFNE and Lake Compounce double dip. That will be a good day.

It is a very nice park, but beyond Dash, the carousel, and the Skyride, the park is pretty lackluster in my eyes. Wildcat is, well, just there, as is yet another Bomberang (though I do like the rides). The flats are pretty blah, none are run the way they should be. And their darkride just plain sucks. Frankly, without Dash, there would be no reason to travel to visit this park.

It's hard to type slow, when one feels it is necessary to respond to every thread.

Boulder Dash was the sole reason for me to make the trip. It was well worth it. However, that was really the only high point of it all. The area is nice though and would be a beautiful place to have a nice picnic. I really wanted to get onto that rapids ride, but it was closed. It looked like fun. Other than that, the place doesn't have that much.

There is a park in Spain called Tierra Mitica. I think that's what you were thinking of.

I too feel like Lake Compounce is underrated. No it's not a Six Flags but it made it through some rough times with much less than it has today. Ten years ago it was about half the size it is now, it was in terrible shape and on the verge of demolition. It's my home park so of course I'm a bit biased, but it's come a loooong way and I'm so glad it's still there instead of some housing development. And I hear they're running the rides better (I'm going this afternoon for the first time this season).

The bad news is my coaster countLs too low to post. The good news is itLs expected to grow by 50% this season alone

Welcome home ibluv

I don't know. Lake Compounce was a nice little park with a neat atmosphere. That is about all I got out of it. They really seem like they want to expand, which is impressive to me considering they are a little family park. They have a lot of potential for sure. They need a few more things and that water park expansion that they have in store sounds pretty cool. They need to add to the quality of flats in order to make them at least decent. The could probably use a good wooden coaster to compliment Boulder Dash also, but I don't know much about their space situation. I would think they have a lot considering there is that long walk to get to the Sky Ride and the rapids and considering they are surrounded by woods. I don't know how much of that they own though.

Thanks, Herc. Still a little jet-lagged but I'm glad to be back.

I think what Lake Compounce is lacking most is another good coaster, as the Zoomerang is just standard. And you're right about the flats. Not the best but most of them have been there as long as I can remember so for me they have some nostalgic value. In the next years the park is going to expand to the other side of Lake Avenue. There's also room to expand north beyond the Graveyard. They can't expand south because Briarwood College bought that land, and if they get creative they could always expand into the mountain...

No problem. My girlfriend just got back from Australia a week ago. She is still jet-lagged too even after a week.

I figured they had some room to expand. There is so much out there. It sounds like they can really make that place something. As for now though, it is a nice little trip to SFNE and unThe Lake in the same day.

You really need to give LC a break when it comes to Zoomerang. they had theres long before SFI started ptign the in every park they had. and LC is the type of park it was designed for parks that need a high end coaster but have littel space.

There flats are good there Music express runes better tehn many I have been on and the enterprise is a personal faverate.

They just got done referbing Roter so it will run much better.

also look at htere future. an S&S Screaming swing for 2006 and a hole new water park secion by 2008. they are finishign up permision for moving the road now. they also want to add a family coaster posible a wood one.

The park also owns an Antuique car ride and will instal it at a later date.

How? According to RCDB, LC got their boomerang in 1997. Six Flags started putting them in around that time, and even before. My home park got their version of the ride two years prior to the one at LC. They built a total of 9 boomerangs.

That's not the point. The point is mrceagle has to post as many responses as possible, whether they actually make sense or are acurate is a whole different matter.

ThaT HAS NOTHIGN TO DO WITH IT. I CAN LEAVE FOR A WEEK AND NO ONE WOULD GET CLOSE TO THE POST i HAVE MAID OVER THE LAT 4 YEARS.

the caps wern't on perpuse. I'm jsut not fixing them. yes some parks had them at ealry as 97. SFNE (later) and Great escape (same year). all the other SF parks had theres later then that. only SFOT had one before. SFKK and SFM wern't six flags parks when they were instaled.

The number of posts I get has nothing ot do with the forum links I respond to. What do I have to worry about I can leave for some time without anyone coming close to the total posts I have maid over the years I have been on this site.

I don't post mearly to get posts. I'm trying to contribute. though I respond to allot of threds I don't respond to all of them and at one point I was barly resonding to anything on this site. It all depends on the subject.

My feeling exactly. Quality over quantity is what I say.

Problem is, and I have addressed it before, you post to threads you know nothing about. That would be fine, except you posts things as if they were fact, and not opinion. Even worse, your facts are all too often wrong. This is not a contribution at all.

Further, you have a habit of never learning from your mistakes, and continualy restating the false assumptions you have. The whole debate of the SFGAdv Wild Safari is just the latest example.

What I am trying to get at is maybe you should give your keyboard a break there and slow down. Write legible posts about things you actually do KNOW about, and state assumptions as just that, assumptions. Have some grace when you are wrong, and listen to those that know better. Too many of us are tired of your senseless and baseless posts.

half my posts on many of your wrong info complaints is tryign to get you to understand my point.

For example the SFGAdv Safari. I wasn't tryign to say no one ever went. I was sayign since they ofer free admition to just about everyone they shoudl turn it into a park atraction. makign the park more of a 2-3 day visit then it is now. I understude that I ws wrong about it's atendance and even said I was wrong about it.

How is that not learning?

half the times I post to pparks I know nothign about is for example what shoudl SFGA get. I through out some idea.

Over all what wee say about parks make littel deferance. The parks mostly look at fan sites and not this. SFNE, Canobie, GE, managers and owners wach those sites and pay little atention to this one.

Liek I mentioned before there are thousands of thredes I don't bother posting in and many I post in once and never post again. for exaple the first, best, least, worst, thredes I state once unless I emember somthign I neglected to mention.

Alright guys, I'll get the thread back to the original point. I was looking at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and it looks like a great park. It looks like it is set in an old mine or something. It has a cliff around it that contributes to some of the rides including Krypton Coaster. I haven't heard very much about the place so I started looking things up and it has won 6 years in a row, Golden Tickets for Best Shows. It must be a pretty solid park.
