The Typhoon is a steel roller coaster. It has one inversion. It was built by Pinafari in 1998. It is 63' tall, it is 1,836' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
it is ok. bumpy, head slammin, slow, and painful. that is all i have to say.
Awful, awful, awful. Its awful
I dont know if the rest of you have a love connection to this ride or if I just caught in on a bad day. The restraints are uncomfortable, the lift hill is agonizingly slow, the drop is painful, and the "inversion" is the most painful maneuver Ive ver been through and the whole time the ride feels like its gonna fall apart. Its a real shame that this ride had to be my 100th steel coaster instead of Raging Bull.
Now iv been on over one miliion coasters and this was my frist at age 8 I rode this beast kicking and screming but it was my first. I was scered of that 100 foot drop but I did it and I look back and its relly funny that I was scered. After I rode the typooh The next year I got to go to SIX FLAGES GREAT AMERICA I road the typooh about two mounts ago and now I understand the ride so I will give it a 6.
This is a great roller coaster for the type of park its in. The first time I rode this I was very scared (11 years old). But since Ive been to Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America Ive ridden way more extreme rides.
This ride is mediocre. There are alot of twists, but its bumpy. This is a good ride for people who have never been to a major theme park
This is a very unique ride, the only steel roller coaster ever built by its parent company (although the construction problems are a good answer why). Some strong loops and some heavily banked turns make this a fun coaster and a rather strong showing for a smaller amusement park, like Santas Village. My rating comes as follows, for a steel coaster this is a 5 or 6, for its uniqueness Ill give it a 7 or 8, for a strong steel coaster at a small family amusement park, this is a 9 or a 10 (comparatively). Ill average it out at an 8 ... especially when you consider theres harldy ever any kind of real wait.
