The Starliner is a true Classic, no matter what ACE says! It was my first roller coaster as a kid and I am sad to see the Miracle Strip Park closing.
There may be a good little coaster hiding in there, but I couldnt find it. Rough and in some places slow (I thought it was about to stall at the top of some of the out bound hills), this is a coaster in need of serious TLC. I wasnt too thrilled with the operations either (kept you at the top of the queue ramp, and then it was first come first served when it was time to pick your seat, so there was no waiting for front of back... though I got lucky and got front and back on all of my rides). However, since this is the last year for Miracle Strip, no TLC will be coming this coasters way.
Nice little rollercoaster great for the park too. The only thing I didnt like was the feeling that it was going to fall apart on you.
The Starliner was one of the best surprises among the wood coasters Ive been on. It has plenty of speed and good airtime in multiple locations. The layout is a simple out and back, but much of the course remains hidden from view until riders are actually on it, as it is located right along the back edge of the park. At one point in the first half, riders are treated to a tunnel that begins with a cheesy-but-fun dragon head. Id give the ride an even higher rank, but the bunny hops at the end dont deliver as much air as Id hoped. Stll, its worth going out of the way to experience the Starliner; too bad its in a weird location and not so many people have had a chance to ride it.
Great woodie, a classic. Nice airtime too.
