Now I like Jumbo Jets, but this just wasnt one of the best examples. The ride was certainly fast as the turns were very quick and the first drop was great, but the ride was pretty rough during some of the turns.
In my opinion, Coney Islands worst days are behind it. Its worse for the wear, but things are looking up. This ride is a classic Shwarzkopf and, although the cars are a bit rattled and the landscape a bit bleak - the ride delivers. Fast with powerful forces throughoput - this is no kiddie coaster. Dont under-estimate the fun.
While not the best mantained or pretty part of Coney Island, you are looking at one nice coaster. This ride is a nice change from the common design of other small coasters.
I am a big fan of the "Jumbo Jets" 1970s? coaster track design which rather resembles a large log flume. Unfortunately, this particular copy of this ride is in a rather rough section of Coney Island and is not exactly lovingly maintained. (By way of comparison, there used to be (perhaps it still exists) a better maintained version (called by a different name) at Busch Gardens Willamsburg.) It is also an unusually rouch ride, even by Coney Island standards.
