Simply classic. The first drop into the tunnel gets me every time. You really get whipped around in the back and some of the drops come out of nowhere. The front, while not as scary, gives a lot more airtime. Its great during the off season. The park only opens for 5 hours a day. If you go during the week you can get a wristband for $15 and ride the Dipper over and over with no wait. I think I rode it 15 times in one hour and most of the time I was the only person on the train. Even during the peak summer hours the wait is never more than 30 minutes.
I think this ride is really great, if only they would loose the morgan rolling stock
A classic woode coaster that can be missed if you visit. Still ran the same way it did when opened. Great ride.
This is a a beautifully crafted and well paced ride. It has plenty of thrills and surprises. I love this ride.
This is the best ride at the boardwalk. Not only is pretty much every drop, including the bunny hops, steep, but you also get tons of air time on this ride. The lines are very short, always under five minutes. The only bad thing is that you get pushed into the side of the cars because of the speed and many turns, which can hurt your sides. Some head-choppers, too, but that is a good thing. This is the only reason that this boardwalk is worth going to.
one of the greatest coasters ever made. a true seaside classic
This classic American wood roller coaster is a thrill of its own. I consider this my alltime favorit wood coaster. The history and future fate of this roller coaster all add to the fullfilmenat of the thrill.
One of my favorite coasters on the earth is the Giant Dipper because my mom and dad first met by working at the Boardwalk and they would ride it together. After dating each other for a few years they got married then after the wedding the went to the boardwalk and got hotdogs. So it sort of feels like the boardwalk and the Dipper ar a part of my heratige, and definetly an importand factor in my obsession with rollercoasters.:trophy:
I loved this ride. It was pretty good for a wooden coaster. The first drop into the tunnel was great!
Im gonna give it a 10 since it is still operating. This thing opened in 1924 and still runs great and provides a lot of fun. Lots of fun twists and turns. Plus it wasnt too rough even after all these years.
