Excellent combo tower that was my favorite ride in the park. Yes the cost is high, but the ride is amazing. The launch was sudden and very powerful and at the top I got decent floater air. Afterwards the ride ascended to the top and I was treated to great views of the Jersey shore. Then out of nowhere came the sudden drop that completely ejected me from my seat for most of the drop and it had a decent stomach dropping sensation as well.
Very fun freefall ride. Its tall compared to most others.
I just got back from Funtown Pier, and this was one of my experiences. Its rather surprising to see a ginourmas S&S drop tower at an innocent little park, but thats a cool feature. I knew this thing had airtime from the first time I saw it. (By the way, that was five years ago.) The best part of the ride is perhaps when it drops from the top--scary. Thats a good oppurtunity to float. While on that long bridge on the bay, I kept looking back. I was still able to see TOF until the car descended to the base of the bridge. That might give you a hint how huge TOF is. Another scary thing about it is the thought that it could topple over any second. Its not one of those drop towers that has multiple rides on it. Those feel more secure. I can imagine what its like to have the ride stop at the top due to technical difficulties. Double scary. But if you stick to the fact that TOF has great floating, its a great ride.
I dont know why this got bad ratings. This is by far the best launch tower. One, it is 225 feet. Two, you can see my house across the bay. Three its just AMAZING. The airtime is crazy and, wow its awesome.
Stunning Freefall!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see my house from the top of the ride too
The scariest part about this ride is that its on Funtown Pier... if you look at all the other rides there you will probably figure out that this ride isnt well maintained. Its a little expensive for a free-fall, the only bright spot about this ride is that it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay.
I would normally give these rides a higher rating as I do like them alot, but I just dont think that Im ever going to pay eight bucks for one ride on a freefall ride ever again. This ride is way too expensive.
This is a very common Tower of Fear ride also found at many other amusement parks however the location of this structure on the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Barnegat Bay makes it a bit more thrilling and much more scenic. Take a seat facing west as the sun begins to set and watch the most spectacular scene over the Barnegat Bay.
I really enjoy the way the ride whizzes you up so fast you dont think you are going to stop. You get the sensation you are just going to be thrown into the atmosphere. On a windy day you can literally feel the tower rocking a bit back and forth when you are 200 ft atop its peak.
highest in east coast i think?
sweet ride. scared the crap out of me. (scared of heights lol)
Its just your normal Power Tower kind of ride. Exept you have to pay extra for it. ERRGG
