I tend to go to SFOG 15-20 times a year, if not more. One thing that has eluded me almost everytime I go is Deja Vu, a coaster that in three years of opperation, I have ridden exactly 3 times. Once per year, when I log dozens upon dozens of rides on other coasters. My most recent ride was two months ago when the parks maintenence department made a mistake and fixed the darned thing. Looking back from atop the Mind Bender : "Deja Vu is open? Do I need a new perscription???" I headed over in hopes of riding it for the first time in a year and a half. Anyway, it took me an excruciating hour for me to get on the coaster. I know that shuttle coasters tend to have low capacities, but in an hour they might have had 10 circuits. 10 in an hour! This was a slow example, but whenever it is open the line is slow and long. The ride itself is between awesome and phenomenal, I love cobra rolls on Inverts, and the vertical lifts on this thing are sweet. Unlike its traditional sit-down production-model partner Boomerang, Vekoma raised the bar, and this beast has a 150 foot+ vertical drop, rushing through the station at slightly more than 65mph, the fastest speed in the park. The super cobra roll is sweet, as is the huge vertical loop, and what makes it even better, is doing it in reverse. A reverse vertical drop and going through the inversions is one of the most intense experiences on a coaster, and it really makes the Vu an incredible ride.Unfortunately, it is rarely open and often has a line that moves at a snails crawl, so it is hard for me to give it a 9 like I would. Instead, I will stick with my original rating of 8, because it is one intense ride, but I just dont get to experience it all that often.
Thisd ride is the best that SFOG has to offer, roller coaster that is. The taking up backwards is a neat experience, its like youre laying on your lapbar. then they quickly drop you 177 ft. Great ride, inversions are good too. A must ride anywhere there is a Deja Vu. The only thing wrong with this is the technical problems they have over and over with this ride. The boarding is very slow, because it has only one train, only I think it would be a little more hectic with two trains, yikes.
I rode this ride today. It was fun but the loading was diapointing. This really peed me and my ride experience. That is why this ride only got an eight. Fun ride though.
This is the first coaster in a while that has actually frightened me while loading for the first time. The coaster is overall very smooth (though the catch mechanism is jerky), very insane, and very fun. You get great floating airtime on each of the drops. This is definitely one of my favorites, but I have tough standards for a 10.
this is the scariest ride i ever been on.
What a rush! sit in the front seat for maximum thrills. wait any time for this, it is currently th best SFOG has to offer.
Vekoma didnt go wrong with this coaster!
Great coaster - its fast, its high, and its thrilling the whole way through! However, there is one problem - its extremely, annoyingly unreliable. SFOG Opening weekend 2002, the ride ran for a total of three hours AT THE MOST. Id think twice before spending too much time in the line for this coaster - if you DO get to ride, its really, really worth it, but with the constant breakdowns and closings, it could be a longshot. To me, since the best part is being lifted up the first vertical tower, its most intense toward the back.
Unlike most coasters which always press foward and leave you guessing which way (left-right-up-down) you will go, Deju Vu toys with the notion of fowards and backwrds. Thats what makes it such a great ride.
deja vu rocks it has everything a coaster need!! great great great
