Delivers the airtime where it lacks some of the more extreme laterals compared to Tiger, but its extraordinary wooden coaster and serves well in Florida at Busch Gardens. Loses a point for BGT not consistantly dueling them and for the almost constantly slow crew. The ride is really where its at though and the goods are all here for woodie fans! Just the right amount of "ruff"!!
The only thing I liked about this ride was the flybys, otherwise there was very little air time which kills my ratings for woodies.
While the Gs were tough on me at times, I have a lot of respect for both sides of Gwazi--they really demonstrate the impact of computers on all types of coasters. In this case, the concept of a dueling twister is taken to the absolute limits of what a human can withstand. I do not recommend that riders put their arms up on this one--not because you cant stand it, but because youre likely to injure the person next to you. Gwazi is a wild and wooly experience on both sides and features six fly-bys.
This ride is a lot of fun, its not the biggest or the fastest but made a good ride due to the duelling effect
The day I rode it, they had only Lion going. It was a fun ride because of the speed/banked curves. Wish could have rode with Tiger going, too, but it was still just a good time.
I think that Gwazi is way better than the Grizzle at PKD.If you havent ridden Gwazi yet you got to ride it.Its so cool of a coaster.
American Eagle at Six Flags Great America is better! Thats sad... The ride doesnt duel, load times were horrible (they would send one train empty to keep them from stacking, but the empty train always stacked... Why did they have the 2nd trains on if they werent going to use them?), there is no airtime, and its extremely rough.
Great ride but the Tiger side is better, too bad that they dont move out in sync anymore..... WHAT HAPPEND BGT!
This is actually a pretty good coaster. The only problem is that is bumpy, short, and takes up prime park space where a hypercoaster could have inserted instead. Ride only after the front on MONTU and KUMBA.
Tiger was closed the day I visited BGT, but Lion surprised me with the combination of strong laterals and plentiful airtime. Its not as great as Shivering Timbers or the Holiday World woodies, but I liked it. A lot of surprise turns and twists.
