yes, I agree to all the compliments for this great coaster. 10 all the way and 11 for smoothness!!!!
I rode this ride several times about 5 years ago while they were building Montu and I thought it was one of the best around. Well, five years later I returned and its still one of the best, but its not eve the best in this park. Montu rules. Kumbu is still great though.
When I first rode Kumba, it was probably only my 10th steel coaster. With more than 10 times that under my belt now, I wondered how the first traditional looper from B&M would hold up. Well, Im sticking with a 9 so it must have done quite well! The ride has an array of elements that flow together well. The loop is threaded by the lift and provides a cool effect, and the dive loop just starts the fun. Riding in the back yesterday, there were some great forces through the corkscrews and cobra roll as well as the sweetness of the zero-G roll. The ride was fast and diving through the trenches and ditches it provides awesome speed sensations. Even in the back row the ride was pretty darn smooth, which is something the (themepark) critically acclaimed Hulk cant say. Overall, it was a fantastic looper that still hovers in my personal top 20 and it was so good that many other rides have adapted its elements within the new designs (interlocking corkscrews, dive loop etc). This was probably my favorite ride from yesterday.
This ride was AWESOME!!! I rode it six times
in a row, compared to any other coaster at BGT, this was by far the Best!
This thing is awesome! From the pictures Ive seen, it looks like almost all loops, all in the air. On it for the first time I was quite surprised at how much it hugged the ground. Not a trace of headbanging, just a little bit of vibration. It isnt possible to design a better 7-inversion sit down.
Its a good ride, but Id rather ride Kraken, Montu, or Hulk (all also B&M - ha!). Kumba seems to ride rough, and the elements come at you too close together. A little more pacing would help this ride.
The best sitdown looper Ive ever ridden. Kumba in the B&M tradition has an extremely smooth track layout. The lift hill is just the right height. Perfect layout and great inversions. Blows Arrows loopers right of the water. A B&M masterpiece.
Inversions are sweet. All of the elements put together make this a must ride at Busch, right behind Montu of course!
Kumba is perfection in steel. From the wicked twist of the Zero G roll, to the surprise tunnel, when it comes to loopers, it just doesnt get any better than this.
Mostlikely one of the most underated coasters in the World, This is one of the true B&M coasters. The tunnel couldve been alittle longer and the Trims couldve been alittle looser too. Great ride, best of all it feels like your on an old looping coaster due to no Seat belt thingy, makes you alittle nervous.
