Kumba is a great sit down coaster...it goes very fast and is very smooth up until the end with the two corkscrews; it bangs your head around a bit, more so if you sit on the sides. When I rode with my friends we waited for the front, and the wind was in my face and i felt like we were going a TON faster! must be experienced in the front at least once.

Kumba is great looping coaster that deserves a LOT of praise. Before Kumba, the standard looping coasters for amusement parks were the Arrow and Vekoma coasters. Kumba essentially brought looping coasters into the modern era. It made them smooth, fast, exciting and loaded with great types inversions. The one thing I remember about riding this ride was that it did SO much. Its no wonder that so many other standard looping and floorless coasters have duplicated or nearly duplicated this layout exactly (Medusa and Scream are good examples). Although these rides are being cloned like crazy, Kumba is still a great "modern" looping coaster that has become a classic.

Another great Busch coaster. It has so many great aspects. All of the turns, drops, inversions, everything put into this ride is done perfectly!

Kumba is one of the best sit-down rides ever built. It has great speed and a monster loop and is smooth. I think this was one of, if not the first ride that B&M built and it is still one of the greats.

An excellent ride that falls just short of a 10 and ends up the #3 coaster at the park behind Montu and SheiKra. It seems that this coaster runs faster and packs more punch than Montu does, but I like Montus overall pacing better. Kumbas inversions are all good, and the ending helix in the ground is a nice surprise. Still smooth after all these years, this coaster is sure to please enthusiasts and should certainly not be missed when visiting BGT.

One of my top 10 coasters. My love for this ride grew on one dark and stormy night about 45 minutes before the park closed. The park was really empty that day, and when I went on the ride, it was drizzling slightly. There wasnt any line, and once I got on the ride there were probably 7 or 8 people riding on the train at the most. I made one round trip on the ride, dealing with the pain of the raindrops hitting my face at 60 MPH, and got back to the station. There was still no line, so I just sat there and went around again... and again... and again... and again. About half way through the people in the front row got out, so I moved up there and took another ride... then another... and another. I rode Kumba for 45 minutes straight without missing a ride. I only got off when the ride closed for the night and by the end, I was wetter than if I went on Congo River Rapids, but it was worth it!!!

I loved this coaster the first time I rode it on a class trip in 1996. We ended up riding it 3 times that day. It was my first B&M and like nothing else I had ever been on up to that point. Still in my top 10 coasters.

This is a very good steel looper. Probably one of the best (and first) sit-down megaloopers. The first thing i noticed about Kumba is the cool track design, and the great terrain it goes through. This includes jungle-like scenery, tunnels, trenches, and the track just looks awesome. The loop around the lift hill is also unique. I have heard that BG Williamsburg wanted to do this on Drachen Fire, but if you can confirm that this is correct. However, Montu is a better coaster. This one just wasnt that thrilling i guess. A couple cool inversions though including a dive loop and cobra roll. Very good coaster overall.

Kumba is my favorite looper although I have not been very interested in steel loopers although I love inverted loopers. This was also quite smooth. I thought the front seats were the most ridable. I was able to get 6 rides in an hour which I assume is not normal.
