I wasnt expecting too terribly much from Hydro Surge, in that it looked to be a rather short rapids ride through some cheesy fake cavern scenery, right on the perimeter of the Pavilion next to the street. However, it was such a hot day that we headed here first, and it was a true godsend. This ride absolutely soaks you. There are no waterfalls to go under or geysers that spray or any other gimmicks. It is the honest-to-goodness rapids that will do all of the drenching. These crash in so hard that they soak your entire back and lap and shoes. They dont really go over your head, but somehow I came off without a single dry spot. Without a line, we rode over and over without getting off. The perfect relief on a scorching day.

When I visited Myrtle Beach, it was a scorcher. The Hurricane wouldnt help and the log flume was closed. So you know what I did? This ride! Its the best rapids ride that Ive been on and I believe you can shoot water at the people that come by (heh, heh, thats always funny). Going through the tunnel was pretty cool, even though it could use some lights and special effects. Either way, I love this ride!

This ride is very short but it is still alot of fun. It is also well themed and you get very wet.

I have a great memorie on this ride! Just what is the theming though? I could never really figure it out!

I know Im being biased, but I think the Hydro Surge is a great river raft ride, even if it is short. The tunnel in the beginning is such a nice touch and I love how when you exit it there is a soaking waterfall you go under. The rest of the ride isnt too intense, but is fun. You can usually ride the HydroSurge two or three times w/o even getting out of the boat!

For the space they had to work with, this is one of the best water rides they could have given the public. The tunnel in the beginning and the water guns at the end, all make for a very enjoyable water ride experience. And the theming is great too.

The theming is screwed up but it didnt matter cause I got SOAKED!!!! Im not a big fan of water rides, but this is one of my favorites because I was wet for the rest of the day after riding this thing.

Probably the worst water ride ive been on. It was really short and too much water... I was soaked after one ride. The themeing was terrible also.

A good ride to get soaked on. No matter where you sit, you get wet. The one thing that bothered me about this ride was the end kind of trailed off and it went from a white water adventure to a slow, almost romantic, boat ride.

Even though this ride is extremely compact, it is so much fun, well themed. And you get very very wet
