I never did think that a log flume could be better than most coasters; until I rode Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls at IOA. I was expecting it to be good, but boy did it exceed my expectations. When i got there it was bigger and steeper than i expected. The buildings were also very cool looking. There was a cool storyline, involving all the classic characters. Theming was great especially the signs put up by Snidley Whiplash. The last drop had the effect of a rollercoaster! The ride was long too, and featured at least 4 drops in total! If you had to pick the ride that is most dominant in its category, this would be the one. Its not included in my top 10 because I use that for coasters. But this was a WONDERFUL ride!

Great flume ride, but only if your willing to get soaked. The boat is pratically underwater after the drop, and the water kinda smells. Plus, the initial ride before the drop consists of tunnels that are too dark with a few characters that cant compete with Splash Mountains animatronics. But, its still a great ride.

The flume itself was top notch. Some good false drops, love the double-down element, and a great final drop. Problems? Character elements were minimal and not nearly enveloping enough (again, this is on a scale for an ORLANDO THEME PARK, against a local 6flags or Paramount, its got them beat). Story line was basic, but still rather difficult to follow, and I didnt find it all that entertaining (and I used to love the old cartoon show as a kid). As is typical of IOA, I could see too many "behind the scenes" elements without having to look for them ... its not as much fun when you see the rod moving him or the crack in the concrete that he is guided through. All in all, dont miss this ride when at the park ... but Id recommend hitting MKs SPLASH MOUNTAIN and make your own comparisons for Orlandos top flume ride.

Hands down, best flume ride Ive ever been on. The major difference between this and its Splash Mountain cousin at WDW is that you actually get wet on this one. The WHOLE PURPOSE of a water ride - especially in sweltering central Florida!

This is the BEST water ride in the State. Only problem was that some effects were not working. The Train Light did not go on. But still a great ride!

Orlando is one of the few places in the world where just about all of the log flumes in the city are heavily themed, and Ripsaw falls is no exception... Its not as well themed as splash Mountain, but you get much wetter, and you really dont expect the drop to be that big and to go under the water, then go back up, then go back down through jets of water before splashing down. Not only is it one of the best log flumes in orlando... it also pays tribute to (or rips off) Disneys rides. The talking heads on the wall make all kinds of disney jokes, and then in the ride itself, there is the train light which was in Mr. Toads Wild Ride before it closed. Then Snidely Whiplash is pushing a boulder over a cliff at one point. Look famarilar from Snow Whites Scary Adventures? And then theres the final scene of Snidely in jail with a squirrel with the key. This ones not questionable at all... its the mangy mutt from Pirates of the Caribbean...

The ride was majorly improved when they added seat dividers so you dont fall on the person in front of you going down the hill!

i love how you think ur gonna hit ur head on the drop. And how they make it seem like your hitting the deck when youre watching the ride is really cool too. Good scenery, really cool ride!
