Blue Streak was an amazing out and back coaster that was a pleasant surprise. The first drop provided some excellent ejector air in the back and each of the following hills also provided good air time as well. The ride also was very smooth and well worth a ride.
I could say alot of great things about this coaster.....it was my first coaster, wooden or steel (other than kiddie steel coasters). the first ride i believe was with the buzz bars & a seatbelt. or maybe no belt, im not to sure about that though. I remember when I was young believing that a coaster was capable of jumping off the tracks which really added to the scare, the airtime on this coaster did just that.
My rating for this one would have been higher if CP hadnt attempted to modernize this one. First of all: Im a Pittsburgh native, so I go to Kennywood most often. Im quite used to their style of classic woodies: if its not über-intense, then all you get is a grabbar and a seatbelt. However, I found that the lap restraints made for an uncomftrable ride, and the headrests just gave me a headache. I understand that this is a hystorical woodie, but they really should have kept it that way.
The Blue Streak offers a pretty good ride for a wooden coaster. Its nothing compared to some other woodies Ive rode, but its got some thrills to it.
a nice woodie with plenty of airtime, the only bad thing I can say about it is I once rode it while there was a crew member working who didnt seem to care and was HORRIBLE, she was slow AND rude and several people complained about her, she was gone the next time we rode it that day
This is a classic wooden coaster. Definitly a change after riding all the steel monsters at cedar point. This ride will literally bring you out of your seat.
This classic roller coaster has a great first drow and awesome airtime hills. It really packs an amazing ride that many people miss.
A decent family type coaster with a bit of fun for anyone. Not terribly thrilling, but an okay ride.
A fine classic woody in good condition. It is less intense than the Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure, but is also much quieter.
After scanning some other reviews of Blue Streak, I wonder if I shouldve rode this twice or maybe I caught it on a bad day. It was a cool and rainy day in May. (I seem to bring rain to every park I visit this season. They should send me to some drought-stricken foriegn countries) Anyway, I remember minimal airtime at best and I sat towards the back. It was pretty smooth for an older coaster, but offered about a zero in the thrills and fun department. When I got off I felt like I just rode a kiddie wooden coaster like Scooby Do at PKD. Again at least it wasnt offensively rough or horribly maintained. Kudos to CP for keeping a 40+ year old coaster running smoothly. At least its a good ride for kids and older folks. No death threats please, Im just rating my experience. Final Rating - 5.5 (Average-Approaching Above Average)
