Any number of reasons to love this ride! Open sides are cars create added danger, two great opening hills and great banking. Between the helixes may be the best hump on the planet, especially from the rear seats. The train hustles up the launch of the hill and then flies over the hump. The train gets so much air there is minimal contact on landing and it stays airborne for a long time. As a result the passenger is thrown in the air for the best air imagineable. It gets better each time to ride it because you know this hump is coming and somehow it just puts you in orbit. Avowed woodie lovers enjoy this steel coaster. Added bonus: Since this park tends to clear out early, many repeat rides can be enjoyed at the end of the evening. This ride gets a two hands up from me.
This ride is a mirror clone of my all time favorite ride located in NY. From memory it isnt maintained as well and the location leaves something to be desired. Trains are getting beat up and the helixs were rough on my last rides. Still Unsurpassed air time on third hill and that bronco riding bunning hop finaly leave the design unbeatable in my book.
Really enjoyable ride, fast and lot of airtime (particularlly the third and forth hills). But it seems to be lacking in a few areas. After the first of two double helixies it has a very long straight run where it does nothing, it is an unnessicary break in the action and takes away from the momentum of the ride, and they could have worked a camel hump in there. It also has a really harsh trim on the fifth hill, and almost no break run.
The design of the ride is absolutely beautiful. I love how Intamin incorporated lots of straight runs to feel the speed with a good amount of hills for good airtime.
An amazing coaster from start to finish. This coaster maintains its speed throughout the ride. The initial plunge into the banked turn is unlike any other design...awesome! Every hill is loaded with airtime, and the helices are fast and intense. SFNEs is better, but this is still an almost perfect ride.
Since everyone always talks about how much better the one is at sfne, i wasnt expecting too much from this. was i ever wrong. this s:ros FAR exceeded my expectations. i thought the whole ride was an awesome thrill! the 1st drop gives crazy airtime, and so does the 2nd hill. on my first ride, the first helix made me gray out, which has never happened to me on a coaster before. the bunny hops at the end give great ejector air, for a nice ending. definitely a must ride.
Great ride! Millenium Force is better though. Simply amazing! Ride it in the very frount car before you judge it cause up there the airtime on the 2nd hill is insane!
Good first drop, good third( I think) hill on turn, lots of air, and best of all no braking until end. My opinion is it would have been better if second helix was dropped and more hills added. One helix is enough, two gets boring.
A very good coaster. That drop is a very good drop at 70 degrees and 70 mph at the bottom. A great turn only feet from the ground and then the air. Its floater on the first hill, but the rest of them, its ejector! My one and only complaint in all the straight track halfway through. The ride would have made it in to my top 5 if there was another hill there. Best seat is the back because you are out of it for half the ride. Must ride.
(edited / updated / rewritten 5/24/2006) Its got height... its got speed... its got air... but it just doesnt have that wow factor for me anymore. Great visuals on the first drop, good air time on all of the following hills, weird stomach flipping sensation on the hill right after the second helix, fast helicies.
While the "wow factor" may not be there like it was once... it is still better than most coasters out there.
