Great coaster... great elements... great pacing. My favorite part is probably that long flat straight away just after the first drop that takes you through the structure, only to be followed by yet another drop. What keeps this coaster from getting a 10? Those plastic Gerstlauer trains! I can only wonder how great this coaster would be with more comfortable trains that dont shake you around like those light weight Gerstlauers.

This is a pretty good ride to be my 500th review here on TPC because it has the distinction of being the roughest ride that I really like. Make no mistake this ride will take it to you, but in such a way that you feel it is worth the beating it gives. Reminds me of what the Mean Streak was before CP caved and put brakes everywhere. CAPACITY-8 Two trains but the ops were not the most effecint. It also has one of the longest ques I have ever seen. APPEARANCE-10 Top notch from the entrance which works great with that areas theme, to being just a beautiful, sprawling woodie with a great wooded backdrop. RIDE QUALITY-8 I will mark off a couple for the fact that multiple rerides are almost an impossibility due to the force this ride puts on you. But as I have mentioned in several reviews with rougher woodies I prefer the butt kicking as opposed to the addition of trims. FUN-10 It is like being drug behind a crazy dog sled. The ride is relentless, fast, and has a little air. Once you go down the hill it is on, full board until the end. I may have been laughing with fear, or even back pain but I was still laughin. RERIDE-10 My favorite ride in the park and a must do at this park. OVERALL-46 AVG-9.2 Not enough air to be a ten, but good enough that I have some other woodies who need to be reevaluated.

This, so far, is the tallest and longest wooden roller coaster Ive ever been on, and the drops scare you

The Boss is the most insane, out-of-control wooden roller coaster that I have ever ridden. The reason why I am rating it a 6 and not a 9 or 10 is because it is so rough that it gave me a headache. The roughness of this coaster is compounded by the plastic Gerstlauer trains that have absolutely no padding whatsoever. If Six Flags performed frequent maintenance on this coaster and replaced the trains, it would easily be in my top ten, but as it stands, I think a 6 will suffice.

With The Boss you know who is in charge. Im torn between an 8 and a 9. I rode twice from the back and enjoyed the first drop into the structure and the double dip at the bottom of that hill. The ride is good and long and has a couple of moments of OK air. There are times when it is impossible to keep your hands straight up because of the forces. The final helix is great and powerful. I did find The Boss a little rough for my liking (surprising since I usually dont mind rough woodies).

This wooden roller coaster is in my top three woodies. I loved the ride although I have only riden it twice. My first time was awsome. The coasters contains great steep drops, a few straigh-a-way parts, and ends with a nice helix. My second time was rougher and in my opinion this ride will become too rough eventually just like Texas Giant at SFoT. I do want to warn that because it is in a wooded mountainous environment that bugs, mist, and strange smells are a possibility. I have only ridden this coaster first thing in the morning. The ride is a walk-on then.

This was a very powerful coaster to say the least. I was getting thrown all over the place, which can be fun, but not when its the entire time. It seems to go on forever and it was very fast, but it was a little to rough for me. Great air time, but I had a bad headache after getting off. Usually the front gives a smoother ride, but not on this one. I think The Boss will probably have the same fate as Mean Streak at CP. Its just too rough and if it doesnt get slowed down its gonna tear itself apart. But it is an amazing stucture to look at.
