I grew up on the original and would always ride it multiple times during the day. Riding it after it was butchered was quite depressing... I walked out
of the station, mouth open in shock, or was it horror, at how boring the ride has become. I used to love racing through the supports at the end, over the multiple bunny hops, now it is a relaxing return to the station, with zero excitement.

Thank you Six Flags for ruining a great ride.

Im changing this review, because since the last time I rode it, the drop has been shortened and the train slows down during the ride. UPDATE: I recently rode Cyclone with a couple of my friends for the first time in a few years. And when I got off, I was almost swearing. Six Flags has ruined a quality ride. The train continues to slow down more until it peacefully glides into the brake run (due to trim brakes added thruout the ride). Really dissapointed.

A very good coaster in many respects - but man, talk about uncomfortable. I dont mean just that its rough, I mean that the seats are very narrow, made of rigid plastic and the dividers between seats are kinda sharp. Combined with the constant back and forth rattling, it causes cyclone to lose some points. I might have enjoyed it more if it wasnt constantly poking me.

Im usually a steel person but this ride is something you have to do at SFNE. I usually do it between 2 and 5 times. This coaster gives u air time and has a great first drop (unfortunately i never got to ride it with its old drop but my cousin told me it was amazing. Any one know why the reduced the drop?). The only ba comments i ever hear is that its too rough. This ride beats the Sh*t outa you, however, i just think it makes it more entning

I was VERY disappointed to see the new first drop and equally surprised to see that the old TERRIFYING first drop remains under the new construction like a testament to the past. The ride, although not as ABSOLUTELY, WONDERFULLY, DIABLICALLY TERRIFYING as it once was, still packs a wallop. My buddy, who never rode it with the original track design, described it as "evil". This ride, even with the new profiling, is one of the best and most terrifying coasters around. Each drop (including the new first one) seems to rip you from your seat (we sat last or next to last row each of the 6 times we rode). After the first hill the ride kicks into hyper-speed and NEVER lets up. The superstructure is gorgeous. William Cobb must rank with John A. Miller, Herb Schmeck, and John Allen as one of the great coaster designers of all time. THIS IS A TOP 20 WOODIE. The ride ops on this ride were the most entertaining of any ride in the park. (Walk on)

Steel coasters? They go faster. They are smoother. They loop. Better than wood right? WRONG!!! The idea of a roller coaster is to scare the heck out of you. The Cyclone does that better than any ride Ive ever ridden. If it doesnt scare the heck out of you it will knock the heck out of you! You swear if you let go youll be thrown straight into orbit! You go over the fisrt drop and your whole world just gets blurred. You try to look ahead to see whats coming but youre getting banged and bounced and pounded into dazed confusion. When I ride this coaster I still get that feeling that it has left the track and is headed into the ground. Compare it to even the mighty Superman Coaster. First ride Superman and hold your arms up like youre flying. I bet you make all the way through like that. Then I dare you... Dare You to try the same disrespectful gesture on the Cyclone. My bet is that you will probably hit the ground in downtown Springfield Ma.

I rode the coaster in 2001 after its first drop shortening. I dont know what it was like before that but Ive got to say, This is the most deceptive looking coaster in the world. It creeps over each drop and the train just leaves you standing in the air! The only coaster to really ever scare me to death and I LOVED IT!
This coaster is definetly not for the week or timid.

This ride is totally classic and if they ever take this one down, I will never return to this theme park again.

I had one late night ride on this and I was amazed actually. I guess this use to be called the Riverside Cyclone. The ride had a slow part I remember but then all hell broke loose and everyone in the train seemed to be saying "what just happened." Based on this one ride Im giveing it a good rating.
