Chang is one of the coolest looking coasters out there. Good color scheme and I love the way B&M does their support structures. SFKK has done a bad job maintaining the ride though. It badly needs a paint job and there is noticeable rust all over the track. The trains also look a bit shabby. Ride ops were lazy too. Theming could be so good (not many Asian themed rides) but is cheaply done. Well, all of these are basically comments about the park, but its Six Flags - whats new? Anyway, Im not a huge fan of standup coasters. I like the freedom but towards the end of the ride my legs start getting sore. I found Chang very similar to Cedar Points Mantis. Chang has better size and an extra inversion, but one thing I found is that the trains look lethargic as they go through the course. With such a big drop I would expect the trains to dart in and out of inversions, but instead they seem to crawl through each element. Uncharacteristic of a B&M. The first drop is great and the first two inversions are massive. The ride is long and there is even some airtime on some of the final hills. Chang is a solid ride, very good for a standup. Had it been the same design in a sitdown or floorless I would have liked it better because Im not a standup fan. A good ride though.

Times ridden: 1 ~ Ride experience: 8 ~ Layout: 9 ~ Appearance: 4 ~ Thrill factor: high ~ Airtime: N/A ~ Reride factor: medium->high ~ Evaluation: Chang is a pretty good stand up coaster that features all of the ordinary inversions and twists that are usually found on this type of coaster, and the ride is well paced. Unlike Mantis, Chang isnt too intense or forceful on the body, making it quite enjoyable. Changs only downside is its operations. On my visit, two trains were running, but the crew was only loading one, making a pretty short wait turn into an hour, plus. Which brings me to my next concern, appearance. The coaster is rusting very badly, and is noticed mostly on the vertical loop. The queue line is one of the dullest Ive ever had to wait in, but at least the whole thing was shaded, so thats a plus. Aside from the negative appearance and poor operations, Chang is one of my favorite stand up coasters, and a definite must ride if I ever visit Kentucky Kingdom.

I really like Chang, and it is the first coaster I ever rode that goes upside down. Sometimes when I ride it, it is smooth as can be, while other times I do find there is some headbanging, although it is not very painful when it happens. I think with a little better maintenance this coaster could be fine all the time. Truly one of the best stand-up coasters, especially if you catch it when it is smooth... With the exception of a little head banging, I find Chang to be confortable, and the loops to be really enjoyable.

This is one of the best standups that Ive been on. Its pretty smooth but the corkscrews were a little bumpy. It was also very cold when i rode this ride so my face was turning very red from being in the front row. It was still pretty fun.

Im the oddball, I have to give the ride a 10. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom wasnt really a great park at all, seeing that Im way to easily amused when on a wooden coaster, even The Beastie at Paramounts Kings Island has me laughing for hours, and Twisted Twins did nothing for me. But part of my score may be because its the only stand-up Ive rode. My wife was a big fan of PKIs King Cobra, but my first visit to PKI wasnt until this year past. But, it did look considerably long compared to some stand-ups Ive seen online, and was really what made the trip to this Six Flags park wothwhile, and in fact, probably the only reason Ill go back again.

The best coaster in the park and a very good stand-up. The queue line is better shaded than all the other coasters in the park. I was very surprised that they only had a single train operating but the park was slow the day before Labor Day so the wait was never more than 20 minutes. The corkscrews are the best element especially when sitting in the back

Of the three stand ups I have ridden, it runs the best. A nice layout, but the area around the ride could use some landscaping. Of course the day I went, just like every ride at this park, they were running one train.

Compared to others, its not the best stand up in my opinion. Yeah, sometimes your legs feel crushed and it doesnt seem to go that fast. The best seat, despite the line, would have to be the front row on the left. The opening turn into the drop has a nice effect from this seat.

I really like this standu up ride. The ride it self needs some paint and two cars running would help the line. But with all that said it is a very good stand up coaster.

A very good standup coaster. Once again it would have a higher rating at a better park. Everything at this park looks half finished. I wonder if they have any maitenance, groundcrew, or security in this park. Great coaster layout and so much speed you can feel it in your legs. Cmon SF clean this park up. EDIT. The new colors look great and the land around it was really nice. APPEARANCE-9 My only complaint is having anything to do with a Chinese theme. Am I missing something in that area I dont know about. I would use the blue on the track and just theme it with Hurricane Harbor. The landscaping and paint look great though. CAPACITY-8 I always go so early in the season that I never see a two train operation, but I was impressed with how well they were doing with ops being nice and helping people. RIDE QUALITY-10 Just blows away Mantis or any other standup I have been on. I noticed no roughness at all and had a great ride. FUN-9 Not a big standup fan, but yesterdays ride was great. I really enjoyed the long layout. RERIDE-9 If I ever go back to the park this is one of 4 must rides so I will score it high. OVERALL-45 AVG-9.0 Just a great ride on my recent visit which has caused the bump in rating and rewrite. Proves without a doubt that CP knows nothing more about maintaining rides than anyone else does, because this owns Mantis.
