AWESOME WOODIE!!!! One of my favorite woodies!!! This Rocks MY SOX!!!!!!

er, I dont get it. I got nothing more than a calm, pleasing ride without much punch. Very John Allen-esque, if you will. The helix was very weird - very drawn out but by the end it did pick up steam. Not much air for me, just a little in spots here and there. The ride wasnt rough either as I thought it tracked well for being almost 30 years old, but the ride still screams "average!". Nothing bad to report, nothing good either.

i like this ride. it just needs adjustments. like making the backwards part not get stuck all the time and close it down in the rain. (pain!!!)

I absolutely loved this coaster! Great airtime and speed. While not as great as SFGA other woody, the Viper, its still worth riding. UPDATE (6/20/2007): I went back to SF and the Eagle has seen better days because it was way rough this time. It is still a good ride, but not like it was back in the day.

The best thing about it is that it actually races, unlike a lot of racing coasters we see today, and you have the choice of facing forwards or backwards. I chose to ride forwards and had a nice ride. The train was uncomfortable, and the track a bit bumpy, but aside from that, the bunny hops and helixes make American Eagle a very fun roller coaster.

I liked it slightly better than Viper. I only rode the forward side in the back row. I loved the layout and inclusion of the helix for the turnaround. I got decent air on the ride. I think the entrance into the queue is unique and well done with the covered rotunda making it look very old school.

I have mixed feelings about this ride. The forward side was great. It was smooth and had plenty of airtime. The backwards side was painful though. My whole body was thrown around. The backwards side was also very rough. The forward side is the best of the 2. Its fun, has a shorter wait, and normally wins! The park has stopped racing them which really lowers the rating. Hopefully they will race since thats one of the best parts of this ride.

Im not a fan of this ride at all. To tell you the truth, I have no idea why. But I like the way it makes great america look. Ill give it a 4.

good roller coaster with short lines. Fun backwards or fordwards so ride it depending on the lines. Fun but not great. I got a small headache on the spiral

Great classic wooden coaster, better when racing, not much more to say.
