I had high hopes for this dark ride. I love the haunted mansion at disney and heard great things about this ride. I think it fell a little bit short. You went to fast through most of the rooms so you couldnt enjoy the effects. A over all good ride just not great.

A decent flat ride, just not outstanding. I think this ride could grow on someone if they had more then once chance to ride. My first impression was fair because I did enjoy a couple of scenes. My favorite scene was the one with the car. I thought that was very humorous. I can definately see why children like it and I did like the outside.

As dark rides go this is truly excellent. The ride has a good mixture of disturbing imagery mixed in with some impressive atmosphere, and some good fun. Its really hard to put this attraction into words, but definitely check it out if you visit this park.

This is an absolutely brilliant dark ride. Great scares with a wonderful classic feel to it. The truck gag really got me. Its also a bit depressing that nobody even attempts to create rides like this these days. Oh well, atleast we have this nostalgic remider of what a haunted house should be.

a bit campy, but a great dark house. ive been going to knoebels since i was a baby, and it took me until age 12 to keep my eyes open throughout the whole ride. over the years, a few things have changed, but they were for the better. ive been in more than a few dark houses through the years, but this is the best one, hands down.

yesterday i was given a wisdom from an older amusement park connoisseur who was hanging out in front of the haunted mansion. he said, "you can know a good dark ride if you see at least a few little kids coming out of it crying." besides being humorous, this has the ring of a universal truth, IMO. and i can say that without fear of reprisals concerning my lack of empathy for terrified little kids, because i was once a crying kid clutching his daddys arm on the way out of the haunted house at trimpers amusements on the ocean city, md boardwalk (which is often considered among the best dark rides ever). for all i know, that same guy i talked to yesterday may have formulated his theory seeing me crying next to my dad on the OC boardwalk twenty five years ago. but i dont think im any the worse for wear for that brief childhood crisis, and although many who are close to me insist that something damaged my mind when i was a kid, im ALMOST positive it wasnt that fateful haunted house ride. according to nietzche "that which does not kill us makes us stronger", and why not think of those little crying tots as primordial ubermenshen and uberfrauen learning the zen way to confront that which is deeply disturbing to the human soul? a haunted house should be fun of course above all, but it should be wicked and mean-spirited while it entertains you. by my lights the resonance of the "crying kid dark ride litmus test" theory is in the fact that a little kid is going to cry for two reasons - an injury or because something is happening which is fundamentally disturbing. the best haunted houses may be campy or hokey, but they should still tickle the dark crevices of your mind which adrenalize your system because of fear of the unknown and unassailable sensory overload. well, even in my old age (31 yrs) the knoebels haunted mansion succeeded in getting a little personal with me yesterday. sure i laughed at the some of the goofier gags (fans of old skool funpark kitsch will LOVE this ride), but i gulped in the black pitch and jumped out of my spine from some of the jarring surprises and generally felt my skin crawl as the dense layers of noise and shuddering light swirled around me and climbed the walls. a campy bad acid trip is a good description of this ride. i was impressed at how my jovial and sunny afternoon at the park quickly became an off-tempo, herky jerky nightmare that seemed like a tim burton movie which wasnt spooled properly on the film projector from the second our car banged through those entrance doors until the second our car banged through the exit doors. people trust hrry: this ride is fun and creepy and DOES make little kids cry.

I love this ride. I always take people on you have never rode it before and I love seeing their reaction to the truck horn.

It is interesting walking around in their as well. You have to be very carful though, for in some rooms theres only a foot or so clearence on each side and some rooms have a foot drop off.

Anyhow, great ride.

This ride was mediocre at best. The effects were corny and poorly done.

This is the most horrifying haunted house ride that Ive riddien. Dont be fooled by the color on the outside, and kiddies will probably freak out on the ride. But I didnt and I liked it a lot!

By far, Knoebels Haunted Mansion is the most frightening ride I have ever been on. Located to the right side of the park just beyond Kiddyland, the Haunted Mansion sits. With a creepy raven statue sitting next to the rides sign, the yellow mansion sits in the backround. Not included in the pay-one-price plan, the Haunted Mansion costs $1.20 and is well worth it. Even if the line looks long, it isnt longer than 15 minutes even when its out of the queue. Thats because Knoebels has many red cars on the track and theyre dispatched quickly. With no restraints, you sit down in the comfortable cars and enter the yellow mansion through a door when they just bang through. During the very long Pretzel ride there are many stunts and there are 2-3 very scary ones that always make me jump. All the stunts and gags were done by Knoebels and the ride changes often with new gags and stunts being substituted for new ones. Overall, a great haunted pretzel ride that is definitely worthy of the best haunted mansion in the world. I highly recommend the Haunted Mansion to anyone who enjoys dark rides and enjoys being frightened.
