This is a cool launched tower ride. You start by going through Dr. Dooms lair with his Doombots telling you that he needs to extract your fear so he can defeat the fantastic 4 (or something like that). You then then are split up into groups of 4 and sent to a numbered door. You wait a bit too long at the door, and once it opens you step outside and load onto the towers car. The doors close behind you, and once you are strapped in you hear Dr. Doom telling you how he is going to suck the fear out of you. All the while, you have risen about a foot or two, and once he stops talking you wait... Suddenly, you are launched to the top of the huge tower where you experience zero gravity for a few seconds which is a great experience, and then you go back down. You bounce a few times, and then return to the stations where Dr. Doom congratulates you for serving him.

This ride is great for the view and the negative gs that you experience when you are at the top of the tower, but that doesnt make up for its lack of theming once on the tower and being so short. Once outside of the building, there is very little themeing besides looking at Dr. Dooms face in front of you and the audio that plays while you are still on the ground. Sometimes they run fog and strobe effects, but you can only get the full effect of these at night time. To make up for the ride being so short, they should redo it so after you launch the first time and return to the ground, Dr. Doom would say something like he needs more fear, and instead of being shot up the tower, you could be lifted to the top, and then dropped so it would really be a Fear Fall, and would still shoot you up. I think if it shot you up and then lifted you to the top and dropped you the ride experience would be much more enjoyable so you dont feel ripped off for waiting on line for 45 minutes and then going on a ride that is less than a minute long. And if you dont mind splitting up the people you are with, take the single riders line. You will save SO much time!

Tower of Terror is much better than this.

I like most drop towers but this one wasnt so hot. I like how you dont know when its going to shoot off because of the doors that gaurd you from the "tourture device." The ride is lackluster though, its only one shot up and thats it. I go on one in Keansburg NJ often, its not as tall but it shoots you off twice (you get 2 rides) and you get 4 shots of airtime that are much more forceful. So it goes to show you that taller isnt always better.

Eh...its okay, should be called the "Fear Rise" though. When I first rode it I found myself asking where the "Fall" was.

One good shot of air time is it. Theres no thrill, no themeing once on the ride itself, the view isnt very spectacular, and the shot isnt that intense. I really wanted to like this ride, rode it three times from various sides. But it just didnt do much for me. This is without a doubt the most average upshot tower Ive ever ridden. The 80ft Double Shot at Indiana Beach packs twice the punch that this one does, and the Valley Fair / Cedar Point Power Towers deliver twice the ride (with a spectacular view to boot). Sorry, but this is one of few "duds" at IOA.

Certainly not the biggest or best tower ride out there, but it is one of the best. It isnt because of its hiehgt, but because of the storyline and launch. The launch up is powerful, and gives great air at the top. Also on the ride, you get a great view of the park.

I was devistaded to discover that they toned this one down. They RUINDED the gut-wrenching sensation. None the less, this ride still kicks ass! Its surely a must-ride.

Average ride. Just like any other launch tower ride. Fun sitting in the room waiting though. Had some fun on it!
