Ok I know the wait isnt worth it. But I still love this ride. The view is so wonderful.
This is a decent drop tower, but when it is located between Spiderman and Hulk, youd expect something a little more original. If you have time you should check this ride out, but I wouldnt put it on my "must ride" list.
For my 1st freefall ride, it was actually a lot of fun. The theming for it was excellent, I enjoyed listening to Dr. Dooms voice b/f the launch as it made me kinda nervous, & I got some good airtime at the top of the 150 ft. peak. It loses one point for not being very tall though. Good thing about its that I cant wait to ride Dominator in order to conquer my fears that I used to have of it back in 2003.
I waited 5 minutes with express pass. I wasnt expecting much. I got on and got an outside. I thought it was decent but a bit slow and not very high. It could use improvement. Universal should make it more like Tower of Terror with the Doctor Doom theme. Like going through a mad science lair. Sorry I dont know much about Doctor Doom. But good none the less.
Doctor doom is a great drop tower with that fits perfectly in the collection of rides IOA has.First off people may notice while waiting in the quee that this ride actually has a story to it,but most of the time most people get confused over the story or dont even follow it at all. Also the thing everyone notices is the length of the ride.On crowded days it will annoy alot of guest that wait in a 60 minunte line just for a 40-50 seacond ride. The themeing of this ride is also great, not as detailed as Disneys tower of terror but doesent lack as much as other drop towers. The overall ride is fun and offers a great amount of air time and an amazing view of universal and Orlando.Like other out door rides.riding at night is spectacular.Doctor doom is worth a visit but with a wait of over 30 minuntes your better off coming back later or perchasing an express pass.
A fun freefall tower with a surprising launch and a great deal of airtime.A great job with the themeing and a fun video to watch while waiting in that 1 big room.People always complain that its to short, well the line is always pretty long even on least crowded days its at least 20 minuntes.I think making it longer would screw up everything and make the line alot longer.Still overall great ride and not to be missed(unless your scared of heights)
I like this ride very much for a few reasons. The anticipation while Dr. Doom is talking is great, and the launch, too. also, when you come out of your seat and coming down that first time. Also I love the little ones after it. Oops -- I just described the whole ride which leads to its only bad tendency, shortness. The ride lasts for like 35 adrenaline filled seconds. Still a Must-Ride, though.
As a thrill ride, I would have to say it is better than Tower of Terror, only because of that part when you get to the top and begin to go back down when you leave your seat. The theming and story, however, are nothing compared to Tower of Terror, even though they are really very good.
I thought the ride was good, but not great. The launch up was fun and fast, but going down wasnt that much fun.
The launch on this ride is very intense. The theming and special effects were awesome also. The view from the top is great. You can see the whole park. I wish you could get off and take pictures however. That would be my only wish for this ride. It also gives you several rides instead of one and the lines are short.
