Intimidator is a wildly intense giga coaster with a far different layout than most giga coasters. While most feature camelback after camelback and loads of air-time, Intimidator strays from the norm and instead focuses on its breakneck speeds. The first drop is the best I have experienced on a steel coaster, as it feels every bit of the 305 feet tall as advertised and gives massive ejector air the whole way down. Then the train flies through the infamous blackout turn and over a powerful air-time hill. Here Intimidator stays 'pish posh' to conformity and treats riders to a rapid series of twists. The out-of-control feeling is incredible and these twists give surprising pops of air. Afterwards, a trim brake severely saps the coaster of its speed as it coasts to the finish line. There are still one or two small pops of air, but the intensity is nothing like it was at the start of the coaster. Despite the less than stellar finale, the epic first drop and wildly unique layout make Intimidator one of the best coasters around and well worth traveling to Kings Dominion for.

I305 is by far the best coaster at Kings Dominion. It's kind of short for its size, but the airtime and the twisties are great. Plus, the drop feels like it lasts forever. It may be 85 but it feels like 90 every time. One downside is the black-outs and sometimes it gives me a bad headache. TIP: At night the line is hour+ wait. However, for some reason the rest of the day's wait is about fifteen minutes. I still give it a 5 even though sometimes it's a bit uncomfortable.

Intimidator 305 is an awesome coaster. Compared to Millennium Force, it kinda pales in comparison, but it's still fun. I rode it for the first time last year with my best friend & rode it a couple times in August with my wife. The 300+ foot drop's sensational as well as the lateral Gs pulled from loads of banked turns. The turns were also intense as you went back & forth turning from left to right & vice versa. The theme definitely made this ride much enjoyable in honor of the great Dale Earnheardt. The only flaw I have with it's the short track length for a coaster with large proportions, but other than that, it's fun & definitely a don't miss whenever you go to KD.

300 ft, 87degree first drop is great and FAST! The first curve is fun too. Only thing that keeps this from being a 5-Don't Miss is the fact that the scurves on it are a bit abrupt and not all that gracefull.
